Hey, I've got an ASI120MC that I've been trying to get working with Ekos and it's just not happening for me.

When I start INDI Server, the ASI camera tab is there and it actually connects. When I go to the guiding module and hit capture, I get an error message that the ASI driver crashed and the little progress wheel just sits and spins. Updates are current, etc. I've been trying it off and on now for a few days and it never works. PHD2 can't get it to work, either.

Is/are there some settings I should be careful about? I'm just starting it now with everything at default.

If you're having this much trouble, I suggest you compile the driver yourself from the 3rd party repo instead of using the PPA package.

This issue restarted again yesterday but only when it's connected to an RPi,
In my x86_64 it works fine. Try to rebuild the driver from sources.

Whoa sparky! You guys are talking computer stuff again and I'm the guy that's looking for simple answers for non-computer speaking morons like myself. "Compile" and "rebuild from source" are like you speaking Martian. But I do appreciate the suggestions since I'm sure they're good ones!

I did see all the comments about updating the zwo with the compatible firmware - that's something I can do. Looks like it will probably fix my problem.

I tried to build indi on my RPi to see if it would fix my problems, but I am getting exactly the same errors as in the 1st post in this thread. How did you solve it? (since it is marked as solved... :) )

The post was marked "Solved" the first time I had the problem on x86_64 PC :-)
And it is solved, at least for me! Never had the same problem. I just made a second update and downloaded the newest driver.
But it seems the issue also happened on RPi. Are you using the compatible firmware? Just flash it if you aren't and see if it solves the issue

Yes, I am using the compatible firmware, the problem is that the driver won't even start, as described in the 1st post of this thread. Hopefully it will be resolved for the RPi as it was with your x86...

The RPi build download ( indilib.org/download/raspberry-pi/downlo...or-raspberry-pi.html ) says "Daily-built bleeding edge INDI Library 1.3.0+ including 3rd party drivers. Extract and install on Raspbian Jessie.", but when I download it it seems to be about one month old. Is it build daily or not? Anyone knows?

Yes sorry it's updated now to 1.3.1, which should be "daily" from now on. So please download it again for Jessie. IMO, using Ubuntu is better due to PPA support but it's up to you.
