I' am using ubuntu-mate-16-10-desktop-amd64 and have exactly the same problem ans the same errors message when i try to use the driver for i-nova camera. I have noticed that the i-nova driver is not a shared library as the other INDI driver but it is executable. I try lo launch it typing the command "indi_inova_ccd. It seems OK (There is a process of this name running and when i type "control C" the processwas killed.

I hope for a solution from i-Nova

I sent several emails, for the time being, the response to each of them is : "We will send you a procedure within a few days", but nothing else. I tried a ZWO ASI224 which perfectly works, I think replace my PLB-Mx2 by another ZWO, but monochrome for solar h-alpha use and guiding.

Hi,

They told me that it worked, that they would explain to me how to do in the middle of April. But after two other emails from me, there is no answer.

Hi,

You can see the informations for the new i-Nova camera following this link :

www.inova-ccd.com/pro/catalog/newsdesk_info.php?newsdesk_id=54

It seems to be a CMOS camera with an integrated computer like "Raspberry". The reference to Linux and INDI is evident. To produce that camera they shall have a Linus Driver compatible with INDI server. I don't know if the date of 30 of may will be respected. But I think that we can hope to have soon a CORRECT Linus driver.

If I have news of the driver I post a new message!!!!

I re-up this topic. I have tried yesterday to drive a setup including an Inova CCD using the drivers provided by M42.
Unfortunately none worked on Ubuntu 16.04 PC nor on Arm device under Ubuntu 16.04.
Does anybody succeeded using those drivers ?
Otherwise, a SDK looks to be available. Unfortunately I am not strong enough to develop a specific driver on this SDK (if it is available for Linux).
But I will ask to M42 if the SDK exists and may be available for Linux. Hope to be more lucky and have an answer from them.

Hi, What is the problem with the new drivers?
I can ask them to release soon a new version. If you give me some more details I can try to explain them.
For example:
-is the camera is detected?
-do the serial number is displayed into the logs?
-Is the image displayed correctly or is it shifted?
In some day a new driver will be released for Ubuntu Yakkety and INDI 1.4, will make a formal request. This may take from one to three days.
Best Regards,
Ilia.

I do not have the camera at my disposal.
Maybe I can test the camera on next Thursday. I will get the log from indiserver.

You can also try to run the driver from commandline, this is a known bug: when running it from KStars in local mode it does connect but it doesn't capture.

I tested it from command line and from Kstars without success.

Hi,

Same issue with the new driver than the old (1.2.6) on Raspberry Ubuntu Mate 16.04 and Ubuntu 17.04 AMD64. Both are recent installations without remains of old drivers :

It is strange that it doesn't find cfitsio4, try to make a symbolic link to the cfitsio library, I think that version 3 can be refered without problem.
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcfitsio.so.3 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libcfitsio.so.4
or
sudo ln -s /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libcfitsio.so.3 /usr/lib/arm-linux-gnueabihf/libcfitsio.so.4
if you can't find cfitsio try with the following:
cd /usr/lib/*linux-gnu*/
sudo ln -s `ls -t libcfitsio* | tail -n +1 | head -1` libcfitsio.so.4
or much better:
sudo apt-get install libcfitsio4
The deb should solve this dependency but it seems it doesn't do that correctly.
Ilias.
