Timestamp video frames on ASI120MC

I am waiting for delivery of my camera so it is difficult to experiment without the equipment.

Question #5 in the FAQ document at ZWO asks:
I use ASI120MM camera to do meteor monitoring, how to show the time information in the video
The answer utilizes a program called SharpCap. The instructions show how to enable timestamping to a resolution of one millisecond.

Does the INDI driver offer control of this feature? If yes then is the timestamp written by the camera as the frame is acquired, or is it done downstream by the driver running on the RPi?

Thank you.

If you record video SER frames then you get that kind of resolution with INDI already

Hi Jasem,

When I playback a 30-frame clip that I recorded with V4L2 using SER Player, I see the following information (see attachment). The time is correct but the date is not. It should read "26/03/2017" not "26/02/0117".

Thank you.
