Canon 650D disconnect issues

I have been working to set up EKOS, KStars & Indi on the following setup:

Raspberry Pi 3 Running Ubuntu Mint
indilib 1.5.0
KStars/Ekos 2.7.5
Canon 650D
iOptron CEM25P

Pertinent info:
The Canon is set to M, with the exposure time set to Bulb.

I have the mount hooked up using a USB->Serial converter plugged into one USB port and the Canon's USB connection plugged into another. I have been troubleshooting the following issue, but am now at an impasse. The camera will take a random number of long(60 second darks) exposures(5/30 & 24/60) and then will stop taking long exposures and take ~ 1 sec exposures while the timer in Ekos is still counting down. Pausing the the sequence does not clear the issue, nor does cancelling it. When the error happens, it seems to be preceded by a message similar to this: Exposure failed, restarting exposure. Check the Indi Options window for more details. I'd love to straighten these errors out while I have a spate of cloudy nights :)

Thanks,

Eric

Can you use a more recent KStars before we troubleshoot this? Please try with KStars 2.8.2 and report back.

Using the latest KStars 2.8.2 the issue persists, though less often. Each session achieved ~15-20 60 second images before failing(Aborted Status). Expose light on Camera panel is colored red. Clicking the "set" button on the control panel tab for the camera succeeds in taking a 1 second exposure

Following are the session log as well as the indi control log:

Sorry about that... I transferred it from the Pi to my NAS, and that apparently corrupted the file. Here is the clean file.

From the log it seems it's timing out but nothing specific just "unknown event". Can you try to set capture target to RAM instead of SD and see if that makes a difference?

Aha! Those changes seem to do it. I was able to capture 30X60sec darks and 30X120sec darks in succession as a test. Both sequences completed successfully. One last question, is there a way to resize the KStars image preview window, I'd like to make it something manageable like 480X270 (1/4 Full HD screen)
