Issue with flat capture

I make an update yesterday and I try to make flat with a Canon 1000D and a box led flat.
I choose flat in TYPE field.
In Calibrage I set flat source manual an d flat duration ADU=2500 (correct for a 1000D?)
I set 10 images and save the sequence.
I launch the sequence. Ekos takes one shot (with the exposure set int the screen 1 sec by default) and stop. The status of the sequence is inactive. If I restart this, back to the desktop directely. None image is captured into the flat directory.

I join the log file.

What happens ? Thank you for your help.

I don't see the version in your report, but this particular issue was fixed by phabricator.kde.org/D14977. But I don't advise you to switch to kstars-bleeding right now as we are reworking dbus communications, unless you are ready to move commits around.

Another issue you need to be aware of is bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=398301. This one will certainly annoy you if you start using flat calibration, so try not to wreck a night of observation because of this!

Deleting the flat sequence also crashes Ekos with back to the desktop.

Salut !
Same issue here. I have tested with different cameras, different calibration settings, I get the same result, as shown in the attached video

You mean you tested kstars-bleeding and it's still there? Or that we're still stuck with 2.9.8? Or you are surprised that not that many people report the issue?

I use kstars-bleeding 2.9.8 and effectively I am thinking that few people use this function.

Just tested with simulation in nightly and it's working, please try to v3.0.0 nightly that should be available within an hour or two.

I tried nightly version and the flat calibration runs but with some strange issue. I have not identified precisely the problem. I left the exposure time at 1 sec by default. the process starts and after 2 or 3 capture, it stops with message: Cannot set the right exposure or something like that.
I change the time exposure from 1 to less than 1sec. I restart the process and It runs well or not. It is difficult to reproduce precisely the issue.
I read the log but I am not enough fluent to understand everything.
The material is a Canon 1000D unfiltered, ADU manual, ADU=2700 +/- 100.

Thank you for you support.

Ok from the logs you can see the ADU result for the 4th 0.1s capture is odd which threw off the polynomial fitting. I slightly adjusted the algorithm to discard the last point and retry again.

Jasem, I think you should also limit the number of samples to avoid bringing too much statistical noise in the polyfit algorithm.

While you are at it, probably an additional linear coefficient should be added to extract further ADU evolution from frame to frame once a ADU inside tolerance is found. But that's probably out of scope for your activity as it pertains to dawn/dusk flats :)
