Just installed a raspberry pi with raspbian, standard install.
plugged in the QHY5 (works fine on my Odroid C1 and worked before on that RPI), and I get this :
[45.962983] usb 1-1.4: New USB device found, idVendor=16c0, idProduct=296d
[45.963010] usb 1-1.4: New USB device strings: Mfr=1, Product=2, SerialNumber=0[45.963024] usb 1-1.4: Product: QHY5-CMOS
[45.963038] usb 1-1.4: Manufacturer: QHY_CAMS
[46.134258] usb 1-1.4: USB disconnect, device number 25
ok, I know this is an older thread, but it's the first time I've been reading here on this one.
RPI does not provide full 500ma power to it's usb ports. The QHY5 will get sick if the port it's plugged into doesn't provide full power on the usb port.
Simple solution, use an external powered port that provides a full 500ma to EACH PORT. We went thru about 7 different usb hubs before I found one that actually powered all of our equipment properly some years ago. The clue for me was, it was a 7 port hub that came with a 3.5A power supply, so, there was definitely enough power for all the ports. When we plugged the qhy5 into that hub, all our problems with it went away.
FYI, those problems were independant of operating system, same computer, tried lots of options. Plugging directly into the computer was no problem, but our telescopes were on the far end of a series of active usb cables. Until I got the correct hub, that never worked.
