Is there a way to park the scope between jobs in the scheduler?

Hi,

I'm using the scheduler and it works great, unless I need to do darks at the end of the session. I would like to be able to shoot 2 objects, then park the scope and shoot darks before ending the run. As it is, I have to find something to track while it is shooting darks. Doable, but not handy.

TIA,

Have you tried checking "Park" in calibration settings in capture module? The sequence needs to be saved after editing that, but I *believe* this would make it park before capturing darks.

Jasem,

I'm on KStars 3.6.4, but I don't find calibration settings in the capture module. I may be in the wrong place, but "CCD" only has "Capture Settings" and "File Settings".

Thanks,
Dave

I watched an older video and the version being demonstrated had a checkbox labeled "Park telescope when complete" or similar. The option is not present on newer versions. :(

It is in the sequence window, lower right corner. It is labeled 'Observatory Shutdown ...'
It should put the Observatory back in Shutdown. When the next sequence starts if Obeervertroy Startup is configured it should start from there.
This should be a very recent version.

Ok. I can't get the thing to save the park checkbox, but if I edit the .esq file, changing
<PreMountPark>False</PreMountPark>
to
<PreMountPark>True</PreMountPark>
it persists after saves and loads. I won't be able to try it out for a few days, though.

I tried it out, and it didn't work - the scope didn't park before the darks were run. It parked when the scheduler finished all of the jobs. I verified that the value is saved during setup, and that it is in the file after it ran, but the mount didn't park. I've attached the log file and the esq file. around line 1160 is the point where it should have parked.

An interesting side note. When the park doesn't occur, the target is still removed, so no meridian flip will occur, either. The mount runs to the safety limit.

Could someone please take a look at the files and tell me if I did something wrong?

Thanks!

I can confirm the issue, it's a regression. We'll hopefully have a fix by the time 3.6.5 is out in a couple of days.

Dave,
thanks for reporting this, indeed, the parking options are only working for flats.

As a workaround, please try out the wall option in the calibration settings. It should work for flats and darks, but not for bias frames.

In the mean time, I will start fixing it.
