I was looking to see if the bimonthly release of KStars/Ekos was ready. On the KStars download page at kstars.kde.org/download/ it says:
"The latest version is 3.6.9, released on 1 April 2024"
However, 3.6.9 is the version number of KStars I downloaded almost 2 months ago. Is this actually a new release, and if so why wasn't the version number bumped? Does Ekos have a separate version number? How do we see that?
ETA: I should clarify that I'm looking for the macOS update.
I noticed that it was saying 1 April 2024, for version 3.6.9, for quite a while, so I think in fact nothing changed there.
However, in another post www.indilib.org/forum/ekos/14521-kstars-...i-server.html#100010 Jasem says that the latest version os 3.7.0 from today.
I have no idea how one would find the macOS version though and the build system on macOS to do it myself is broken
Cheers,
Richard

Jasem, Eric & Rob are working on this now. The new release will be 3.7.0. I believe "at this very minute" they've gotten the Linux version ready, but they're still working on the Mac and Windows versions. Perhaps that's why the situation is a bit confusing. If you give it a few days, hopefully it should all be there. I imagine Jasem will announce it when it is released.
There have been some changes made to the systems that compile the nightlies and releases, and that has added to the complexity this time around. It has been a lot of work for them--give them a pat on the back when it all gets released!
BTW, Jasem tries to release on a every 2-month schedule (end of January, March, May, ...).
It's been a few days now and the macOS download is still showing version 3.6.9. Does anyone have any info on when the 3.7.0 release is expected for Mac?
The only reason I'm bit antsy is that there is a new feature in 3.7.0 that I've been waiting to use. It has been checked into the source tree for a while but I've been told it's all but impossible to build the macOS version myself.
