I tried it because I had time today.
Although the crash has been resolved,
Auto focus and SOLVER switch to FIT file, but both take very long time.

Because FIT takes a very long time to capture, I would like the option to use native mode or JPEG file for both autofocus and solver.

A proposal

It is a proposal concerning the speed improvement of the plate solver.

Tonight when Solve succeeded and got the equatorial coordinates tonight, it turned out that FIT files could be resolved as soon as possible after doing a lot of tests.

The equatorial coordinates of the solver option are blank for the first time, but if you enter the equatorial coordinates in the TeTelescpe Coordinates field and decrease the radius value from 10 to 15, the speed will be faster.

If you press the Capture & Solve button while leaving the blank equator coordinates of the Solver option blank, it will be very time consuming or error in Raspberry Pie 3 environment.

In the current specification, the equatorial coordinates of the solver option are not entered unless Solve succeeds, but it is better to automatically set the equatorial coordinates in the TeTelescpe coordinate field at the first run.

I want you to consider it.

Yes there is problem with file uploads, will investigate. RA/DE are automatically updated once slew is complete. That is, unless you turned off Auto update in Ekos astrometry options.

Proposal new feature

Astrometry and manual mounting: centering aid

I am a new user of INDI / EKOS / KSTAR and to begin I would like to congratulate all the developers and contributors for this beautiful solution.

Currently I have an old vixen SP mount with trigonometric circles graduated on the axes.

The (simple) functionality I'm looking for and a pointing support:

1. define a target centered on my sensor in Kstar
2. manually scoring with my mount
3. launch a pose and astrometry
4. visualize my fields taken by my sensor on Kstar and in Ekos have the offset of the center of the sensor with respect to the center targeted on both axes
5. Manually via the relative coordinates change the setting of my mount
6. re-astrometry to check framing
7. if there is still a lag, restart the procedure in point 3

I do not know if this is already possible but I have not found a simple solution in EKOS

EDIT: sorry I missed the 6 first pages of this thread...!

I'm not sure, but you can probably achieve what you want by using the Ekos alignment "sync" option and the telescope simulator.

Start a "slew" on the object you are pointing at using the telescope simulator, and in parallel point your real telescope to the object. Capturing a frame on the alignment tab using "sync" will move the simulator fov to the same location as your real telescope. You could then adjust your real telescope and iterate your alignment.

Of course, this works only if your sensor is properly connected to Ekos, your telescope characteristics are properly configured, and you have relevant index files for it (if platesolving locally).

Note that I did not try this method myself, I'm writing this from memory. I don't remember of the simulator supports syncing.
