Interesting, I could never get my CEM25P to update Kstars time/location correctly, what version Kstars are you using? I guess I should give it a go in the newer 2.9.6 version.

Yes, I am on 2.9.6 version of Kstars. I can try setting my location incorrectly and check if it updates after the gps intializes.
I have RTC installed on my tinker board so hard to get the time incorrect.

I'm running KSTars and INDI on a Stellarmate, with the same CEM25P.
Since the CEM25P has the GPS, should I have my mount update KStars?
I often set up in different dark locations, some on one side of the equator and others on the other.

Tested this tonight.
Time on HC was correct, GPS was OK. Disconnected mount from INDI, set the time on tinker board to +3 hours .
Power cycled the mount GPS initialized after 2 mins, verified settings in kstars -> Indi was set to mount updates Kstars.
Connected Mount via EKOS, time on KStars did not change.

It's been a while since I played with the CEM25P and Ekos but I don't think time or location were updated with mount updates devices.
I installed an RTC in the Raspberry Pi 3B and manually input the location in the INDIE driver so really no big deal for me, but for those who move to various sites (like PK above) updating via the mount would certainly be convenient.

I am not the sure if the mods are reading this . I Have attached the logs for investigation if required.

Note:local time was 1 Am PDT, I updated the time on my pi to 3AM PDT. disconnected and connected the mount. GPS initialized ok , but time on the kstars remained same.

I can look into code but I am not sure where to start.

Thanks for the log. I was able to track down the problem and just submitted a fix for it. It should be available later today in the PPA nightly packages.

Thank you Jasem for the quick fix. I'll test it once I have mount back with me.

I tried the first command: sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mutlaqja/indinightly
and got this error message: Cannot add PPA: 'ppa:~mutlaqja/ubuntu/indinightly'.
ERROR: '~mutlaqja' user or team does not exist.

Then I just tried to download the latest bleeding version: sudo apt-get install indi-full kstars-bleeding

And got this:

[sudo] password for stellarmate:
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
kstars-bleeding is already the newest version (6:2.9.6+201805251429~ubuntu16.04.1).
indi-full is already the newest version (1.7.3~201805252021~ubuntu16.04.1).
The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required:
dkms fliusb-dkms fxload-libusb libfli1 libllvm4.0 libllvm5.0
Use 'sudo apt autoremove' to remove them.

This is odd.. it works fine here. Can you try again? maybe it was some odd networking issue. I presume StellarMate is connected to the internet?
