scheduler problems was created by alacant

Hi everyone
Problems with the scheduler.

1. Guiding stops but scheduler continues with capture.
2. On manual restart of the job in the scheduler, PHD2 is instructed to re-calibrate; this is incorrect as PHD2 uses the calibration made on the meridian and equator and makes adjustments accordingly.

Would it be possible to restart guiding and capture upon error?
Could we lose the PHD2 re-calibration?

Cheers and clear skies and TIA,
Steve

1. Fixed in KStars Nightly. Problem was that PHD2 was setting state to IDLE (not ERROR) so scheduler did not restart guiding. Try with KStars Nightly.
2. Settings --> Configure KStars --> Ekos --> Scheduler --> Always Reset Guiding Calibration: Turn it off

EDIT: Please post KStars/Ekos topics under Ekos subforum. General is for INDI topics only.

It wasn't an issue with the scheduler, but with capture (not aborting). I've pushed some changes, but not sure if it will fix this or not. Check later tonight/tomorrow.

OK. After the flip, guiding is still not restored. This time it goes to calibrate but sits looping forever as (in a previous fix) if phd2 is selected it should NOT recalibrate.

Also tested simply shutting down guiding during a capture but the capture simply continues and guiding does not restart either:(
Thanks for your efforts. I hope this is fixable. Please let me know if I can test another nightly build.
Cheers,
Steve

Yes, there was on last bit that I just fixed. Thank you for your patience, it's been a rough ride. Hopefully tonight's release will fix it.

No improvement:(
Guiding stops e.g. due to lost guide star but there is no attempt to restart, so capture continues without guiding.
Meridian flip did not kick in despite being well past the meridian so could not test...
Thanks,
Steve

*Tried again with and without the scheduler: guiding istops (don't know why in most cases) but capture continue. Some frames the download never stops, nothing is downloaded and the capture has to be restarted...

Other problems with this build:
1. phd2 guide star is not displayed (hey, no problem, it's displayed in phd2 anyway so not really needed in ekos).
2. The scheduler does not update the number of frames

Update: tested with tonight's build:
1- meridian flip working fine. Guiding is stopped and then resumed after the flip.
2. Guiding stopped afer the second frame. It was not restarted. Capture continued but guiding was not resumed.
I manually intervened to be able to test the meridian flip and restarted the guiding.
Thanks,
Steve
