The download on my Mac mini was successful, I was able to import tha ova file. Not sure what the hell happened earlier.
Going now to test that VM and report of any bugs if any, stay tuned...
Steps:
imported the ekos.ova to VirtualBox with no issues this time.
started the VM after removing the USB which was causing issues on my machine.
logged in and started Kstars without issues.
done a apt-get update / apt-get upgrade then rebooted the VM.
All seems to be OK.
Quick silly question, how can I be sure that I am running the latest bleeding Kstars please?
This is what a dpkg -l reports:
indi@ekos:~$ dpkg -l | grep kstars
ii kstars-bleeding 5:14.12+r4977.175~ubuntu14.10.1 amd64 desktop planetarium for KDE
ii kstars-bleeding-data 5:14.12+r4977.175~ubuntu14.10.1 all data files for KStars desktop planetarium
indi@ekos:~$
That's the latest KStars. I'll still working on the astrometry.net package issue though, so hopefully tomorrow it should be resolved. astrometry.not works OK if compiled, there is something funny in the packaging part which has elluded me thus far.
In the Ekos 1.12 VM, I can say that the previously reported bug about the "Show SDSS (or DSS) image" has been fixed.
However, the "Data / Download new data" is not.
I got a similar error message from the VM1.12 when i tried to import it. I tried to download it twice. Each time I got the same md5:
7439a1ce0b20a6bf51ea021f616deb56
The file both times was ~113MB. I think firefox is not downloading the entire file. Odd that it stops at the same place each time. I am using debian jessie with firefox.
