Hello,
after updating my system today the alignment tool in EKOS doesn´t work.
When I test the solver with the CCD-Simulator, I became this output: 2015-08-27T09:39:40 Solver failed. Try again. 2015-08-27T09:39:39 Starting solver...
Two days ago everything has worked without problems and I have nothing changed.

The online solver works.

Try to run auto-focus first, maybe the simulator image is not focused.

I had run the Autofocus. I think there is something wrong with astrometry because when I try to solve it manually in a terminal, then I become this output:
(gdb) r
Starting program: /usr/bin/solve-field --no-verify --no-plots --no-fits2fits --resort --downsample 2 -O -L 43.4751 -H 60.0643 -u aw -3 297.042 -4 70.3139 -5 30 test.fits

I just tested the astrometry.net from my PPA and it works ok. Btw, if you want a stable astrometry.net, you can use the astrometry.net shipped by Ubuntu.

I have had the same problem for quit a while now. solve-field segfaults...

I'm running ekos on xubuntu 15.04

I'm using the latest build of indi and ekos

What did you do to make it work? I have tried both the solver from ubuntu and the one shipping with kstars-bleeding. Everything is working if i use the off-line solver...

I think I've got an solution.

If I install netpbm-sf from sourceforge then the problem is solved. netpbm-sf depends of libtiff4, and on my system (xubuntu 15.04) libtiff5 is installed. When I install libfiff4 from ubuntu rep (13.04), then I can solve.

Hello,

I also can not solve any images. As you say Jensen, I install libtiff4 but without success.

I try to solve with the Online et Offline solver. No one solve. I install a lot of Astrometry index ... but nothing want to do ...

I work with a computer under Kubuntu 15.04, and the last version of Kstars from the PPA.

It's failing due to crash or it just fails to solve?

hello,

In fact I have both problems.

On my desktop PC, with Kubuntu 15.04, I install a lot of index, the solve fail. Online or Offline. On this pc, I try to solve an image take with ekos on my observatory pc, by "load an slew" with the simulator on the CCD and the Telescope.

On my observatory PC, with Ubuntu Mate 15.04, with index 4205, 4206 and 4207, it crash.

Is there any log that can be useful .?

If you need any other informations, I am here

If you turn on "Verbose" checkbox in Ekos, it would display the details. If you're using the CCD simulator, you need to perform autofocus first (it starts unfocused) before you perform any alignment. If that doesn't solve it, post a link to the FITS image and the solver options used to solve it.

On my Desktop PC, I install GSC and with the simulator the offline solving work.

But Load And Slew, don't work with my image.

if the image can help you. The only thing a little strange is the fit header for coordonates ... PixInsight don't understand it too.

for the verbose ... it looks like that

2015-10-11T11:32:18 Field 1 did not solve (index index-4207-02.fits, field objects 101-110).
2015-10-11T11:31:52 Field 1 did not solve (index index-4207-06.fits, field objects 101-110).
2015-10-11T11:31:43 Field 1 did not solve (index index-4208.fits, field objects 101-110).
