I couldn't help but notice the dragging cable hanging from the back of your scope, this surely introduces some oscillation. i shall share some picture of my setup to compliment this thread.

P.S: i use Velcro wraps every six inches or so to keep everything tight and not hanging off of the focuser.

C8 with Moonlite focuser, Perfect Star focus controler, mounted on a EQ8, guided with QHY5l on a William Optics 71, and a QHY8Pro imager using a CLS filter. The whole thing is controled by a x86 mini computer running Ubuntu mate under the USB hub. Everything runs off of 12vdc. Roll off roof.... Weakest link in the chain is me.

@ Gonzothegreat: This is really unique! I love the concept. Do you have any sort of problems with condensation etc. or do you have some sort of climate control? Thanks for sharing this.....

In the pictures posted, I had not installed the ventilation. It is now in the bottom corner where the dust pan is.
I have a solar fan at the top (sucks out the air), and with the bottom corner drilled and protected by a vent grill outside and fine mesh inside, the air flow is sufficient to keep moisture out of the box. So far, no issues what-so-ever with condensation within the box, it has been out there since 23 Aug 2014 (only go the telescope in the box a month ago....) and has been dry since (minus one incident).

There was last year a nasty storm and due to a flaw in my lid design some water managed to get in. At this point, no mount or electronic was installed.
I wanted to have the box out there for 1 year at least to make sure it was good. A quick re-think and re-build of the lid solved that rain issue.

The key to fight condensation is a good air flow, do not try to get your observatory all air tight. You must have an air flow.

@ Gonzothegreat: very nice built! Would it be possible to show a bit more inside the box? How did you fix your mount to the ground? In the distant future I really would like to build a box simmilar to yours because my mount is also outside but just covered with a plastic tarpaulin.

Hello Paul,

You can find most of my build pictures in the following link:
www.thefroginator.co.uk/misc/index.php?album=Astro/nano-Obs/
Hope this will help, let me know if you need more info.

At the moment, the observatory is dormant as there is no point in summer to do any astrophotography. Waiting for September for the darkness to come back.

edit:

in this picture, the mount and is on the pier. In the finished obs, the pier is nailed to the floor (after the first alignment).

Do you have some specs of motors to control the lid and INDI drivers you used? I'd love to built a similar rig myself.

I'm using two 'linear actuators' from gimsonrobotics.co.uk/ the GLA750.
There is an Odroid C1, relay board.
And as for the drivers, my own github.com/Trigger-broom-289/indi-gonzo-box
