How to use Imager Agent?

I try using the imager agent via DCD and pyindi-ws. I test using CCD simulator and can get only one file after pressing "Start Batch". Image Count does not progress. And when I use indi_sx_ccd, I get no image at all. Is there an instruction to use Imager Agent? Do I miss anything. Thank you.

Anat, can you be a little bit more specific about what did you do? You can find a brief description of agent properties here: agent_imager.txt . Peter

Hi Peter

I only want to take X shots with Y sec exposure time. Please see the properties in my attached file. No response from the Imager Agent after clicking "Start Batch"

Hi Anat,

1. open agent in control panel, set controlled CCD

2. connect agent (it will connect controlled devices)

3. if you have just one image group (settings combination), set image count

4. start batch

5. wait until batch execution progress is in OK state

6. set group and image number you want to download

7. download image (you'll receive it as BLOB property the same way as from CCD driver)

repeat 7. for each image...

That's it :) Peter

Hi Peter

Thank you. I tried the same steps in DCD. But it didn't work. See the attached files I sent earlier.
Does Imager Agent work with non-Kstar/Ekos clients?

Why is it needed to download images again? The CCD control panel already specifies where to save images.

Hi Anat, Imager Agent doesn't have anything with Kstar/Ekos, I'm not using Linux at all.

Specific purpose of Imager Agent is to run batch on remote machine and to upload images later. If you want to keep them saved locally, set image folder property on agent (default is /tmp).

On the other hand, CCD driver should be configured to send images as BLOBs, not to save them. This is probably why it doesn't work for you - agent reports alert on batch execution progress, because it newer receives any image from CCD. It was developed before this feature was added to CCD drivers and was not updated for a long time.

Hi Peter

Thanks for the clarification. Even using CCD Simulator, I could get only one image. No progress in Image count.
1. Is it some incompatibility with INDI 1.2.0?
2. In Controlled Device, should I use indi_sx_ccd or "SX CCD LodeStar" ?
3. While running the batch, is it possible to disconnect from the server and connect again after the batch is completed? It would be useful when using pyindi-ws since a user may close the browser. or sleep a PC.

Hi Anat,

what is update mode on simulator? Is there something in the log?

1. I tried it yesterday with INDI 1.2, there is no compatibility issue.
2. You should enter device name, e.g. "SX CCD LodeStar".
3. Yes, that's why this agent exists! :)

Peter

I tried again with CCD Simulator. In Batch execution progress: Current Image remains 1 only and even I sent Image Count = 5. I can get only 1 image in the local drive.

Image group settings
Image count 5
Binning 1
Filter 0
Duration (s) 2

Please see the attached file.

Remove Filter simulator from Controlled devices. Agent is waiting for it. Peter

I didn't run the filter wheel simulator. And now the controlled device is blank for the filter wheel. But it behaves the same as before. I got one image only. See the attached file.

Anat, you have Upload mode on Simulator set to Local, should be Client. Peter
