I'm completing the steps for a remote managed observatory.
Among the list of focusers that are supported by indi which has a good compatibility? I mean give the less hassle and better stability?

I would also avoid using a controller / hand device. is there any motor that provides direct cconnection to a pc? eg usb_focus sells a motor only device. do I need also the controller?

thanks

With USB_FocusV3 you also need the controller in addition to the motor as you do with pretty much all other focusers too. I have one in my remote observatory and it has worked quite well, only problems I had at first were due to ModemManager trying to claim the device as well. PrimaLuceLab has an integrated solution called Sesto Senso (www.primalucelab.com/astronomy/sesto-sen...-focusing-motor.html), which is also supported by INDI, but I don't have experience with that myself.

thank you jpaana. Reading another post on this forum it seems that the Sesto Senso is good but not suited for heavy weight.
