Updating self-compiled indi

I want to give openSUSE a try with indi. So I compiled libindi, some 3rd-party-drivers and kstars on my Tumbleweed. Compiling and installing went fine for the moment. I will test this in the field this weekend: Here my project:

sternenkarten.com/kstars-libindi-astrometry-net-on-opensuse/

Now I have a question: How do I update the 3rd-party-drivers?

For libindi and kstars it´s clear: git pull and sudo make install. But, must I do this for every 3rd-party driver as well? Or is this done with updating libindi automatically?

You need to do this for every 3rdparty driver separately. That's the reason why I chose to simply build all of them, even if I don't need most of them.

Thank You for the tip. I think, I write a little bash-script for updating this stuff. So I don´t need all 3rd-party-drivers get installed. :)

I tested the whole thing in the garden:

indi-eqmod is running
feathertouch is running
Canon-DSLR is running.
astrometry.net not yet tested

indi-asi make problems. I get no connection to the cam. I will have a look later, what´s going on here.

Alternately you can have a living vcs branch with the relevant cmake configuration adjusted. Any time you update, rebase your branch and build from there. I have only the drivers needed building in my tree with this method.

Thanks for the idea, Eric. I wrote about rebase, but never used it.

For my problem with the asi-ccd I found my fault: I forgot to install 99-asi.rules via asi-common.

Maybe this should be marked somewhere in the installation-instructions for indi-asi as a dependency.
