I can confirm the observation planner (with HD numbered stars) works like a dream now ;-) Tried a list of 6 stars tonight and managed to slew to each one, one after another off the list great stuff thanks again Jasem !!

Wondered if you could check if there is anything in this observing list Jasem please?. I created a list of Wolf Rayet stars tonight and saved it as WolfRayetlist.obslist but when I came to open it nothing was listed?

I'll check that, but loading of observation list is still quite buggy and incomplete in KStars.

Steve, I presume all these stars were HD numbered? If that's the case, I added HD-numbered stars support to OAL facility in KStars. You can't use that list however, you have to create a new one. Please test and let me know if that resolves the issue for you.

Yes that list was made up from HD numbered stars!
Just tried a new install of kstars-bleeding from the PPA repo and it still won`t allow opening an observing session list composed of HD numbered stars? If I create an observing list of other objects in Kstars database then it will allow to save and load them fine but the fault seems to be just with HD numbered objects?
I think you have nearly cracked it :) . Wish I knew how to code in cpp then I could assist !
cheers

Yeah that should be resolved now but the PPA is not updated yet. I just initiated a package rebuild process in the PPA and you can update again in one hour or less.
