INDI server path in KStars in Windows

Hello All,

If anyone can please inform on how to setup the INDI server path in KStars running on Windows then that would be great for me. I've installed the INDI server for windows and ASCOM driver as well. I'm able to run my Celestron AVX from Stellarium and Cartes Du Ciel but not through KStars. If anything else is also missing then please inform accordingly.

Thanks,
Nikul

You don't need to set the indiserver path. Your profile should be set to REMOTE with the host being localhost so it would connect to the INDI server for Windows.

KStars can run on Windows, but not INDI (at least not yet). So you need to have a PC or controller (RPI3, StellarMate, Astroberry) that runs Linux. So in your case, you can run INDI inside the VM, and then connect to it from KStars on Windows. Now getting your VM to communicate with hardware devices, while possible, is going to take some work, and may not work with all devices.

Thanks. Yeah I figured the VM linux would not be easy to pass through windows devices. But no INDI for windows? I have it and working?
My NUC in the dome is a 64bit pc with windoze 10. I installed this...

www.cloudmakers.eu/windi/

I don't read much, I tend to just skim and fiddle - and seems I saw something about it being in a wrapper. So it's likely OS X wrapped to
run on windows. It went on to say it had a bit less functionality and Linux version. (not sure what isn't working).

It is on my Nuc in the dome and does work though a little quirky in some areas but I attribute that to user error? Since I haven't read
up on how to configure anything yet. But I had dome rotation and the mount interfaced and working. (though Poth).
No one else testing the cloudmaker version?

I'm new to linux - but I suspect, since the nuc is only for astroimaging... I could create a linux boot dongle and boot linix to run the dome from it (on PC?)
Or might be easier just to get another PI for the task. ? But what is it Im' doing right now on windows!?!?! = )
