I have been using Indi recently as my main tool for all astronomy work. I thought it would be great if we can produce some swag to display on our astroparties (t-shirt, stickers etc) for our pride to use Indi.

I was trying to find a proper vector version of the logo (which is cool by the way!). I couldn't find anything.

Is it OK if I try to recreate one in vector? Any one else knows if there is something out there that I missed?

I found the original SVG and edited it in Inkscape. Btw, I also created an INDI Library CafePress shop and will link it to the main website.

I took the extreme liberty to try to fix some logo design bugs the original logo had. Here is the list of fixes I did:

- Re-arranged the groups
- Fixed text alignment errors (O & I with "I" from Indi)
- Replaced font with an open source one (Open Sans)
- Text placement within yellow box
- White stroke around triangle and box are now 5px strokes (and not other boxes and triangles)
- Overall size is now 1:1 square (600px document size fitted in Inkscape)
- Minor fixes in triangle artowork

I am not so sure about the weight of the new font. I can always play around with it, if you are OK.

Probably needs more work.

I like the modified logo.
However, the word "INDI" overlays the beginning of the words "Open" and "Instrumentation" of the following Text "Open Astronomy Instrumentation".
Could You please try to fix that.

Yes, it looks displaced in Inkscape, do you know why?

As mentioned above I used Open Sans, which if you dont have installed Inkscape defaults to Sans (generic). You might not have it installed thus you see it displaced.

To fix the issue for everyone (although reducing editability) I converted the text to path and pushed them. Let me know what do you think of the font weight.

Just one suggestion (I'm no designer - just from what I feel):
Increase the Space between INDI and the text following. And let the font of "Open Astronomy Instrumentation" be a bit smaller.

Hello.
Just few words to say thank you for this good idea to do a vector logo of Indi. You've done a great job, and keep safe the main spirit form Jasem for this. I don't know If I agree or not with the remaks from Michael regardinig the size and relative postion of text inside the log, I'll keep to you to test different choices and validate your prefered one.
Would be nice to have this one, and already a png format too.

Thanks a lot!! I applied the logo, so let's see feedback now it is up there. Maybe "INDI" font weight is a bit much, what do you guys think?
