Belt mode on HEQ5 - how to change gear ration ?

I modded my Sirius (HEQ5) mount with Rowan Belt mode. After watching a video on ASCOM and custom gear ratio, I suspect that you have to change the ratio in INDI as well but I could not find where to do that in INDI/Ekos ?

Anyone had to play with this ?

Would you have a link to that video you watched please? I'm also thinking of doing the mod to y HEQ5 mount but I've never heard you had to change any ratios anywhere.

Hello

Here is the link for the video: EQASCOM: Custom Gearing Ratios by Chris Shillito (the video is only 2m20s)

Maybe I misunderstood what he meant... Let me know what you think

Thanks!

I've fitted the Rowan kit to my HEQ5 Pro and it keeps the same ratios as before. Not sure about the HEQ 5 though.

Thanks for the video link, yes this is when you for example retrofit motors to an EQ3-2 ( I had done the mod before) and you use non-standard cogs.
The installation instructions at www.rowanastronomy.com/pdf/HEQ5-Belt-Kit.pdf do not mention having to reconfigure anything.

For those who have the done the mod, was it worth it?

Ok thanks for looking this up ! I knew I've read it somewhere but could not remember and then I saw this video and went into panic mode :)

Here is a video i shot showing the difference in noise. the mode also help with backlash. I think it is quite worthwile when you compare the cost of your whole setup to the cost of the mode. I would say that the cost/benefit ratio is quite good :)

If you decide to do the mode, please buy the extraction tool ! I could not have succeded without it.
