telescope not pointing at to the selected target

I'm having quite some issues lately with Ekos/indi-eqmod.
I instruct Ekos to point to telescope at Polaris, from that I release the clutches and align the telescope manually.
From that point I select 'track' and then do a sync.

I then select Dubhe (track), the mount starts moving and end up in a completely different location, as in not pointing at Dubhe.
I''m really puzzled as to why this is happening.

What am I doing something wrong there?

EDIT:
I CANNOT believe this rookie mistake !!!!
I have re-cabled my development observatory and somehow I plugged in the DEC cable to the RA port :(

Well it seems that this issue came back, and this time the cabling is correct !!!

I used the following picture to get my head around the north-south-west-east movements:

Within Ekos, I used the Indi control ~ EqMod Mount ~ Motion control ~ North-South-West-East.
I can move the telescope exactly as per the picture, no problems
North/South = DEC
West/East = RA

I have set the Geographic location to my coordinates in Kstar and in the Indi eqmod control panel.
I get the scope to slew to Polaris and align the mount manually to it, weight down, scope straight up to Polaris.
From there, I do a slew to Jupiter.

At the end of the slew, the scope is point way of course, completely wrong.
It's pointing way somewhere else.

I'm at lost as to what's going on.

wow wow wow, something odd just happened!!!!!!
Steps:
Used the north button and the scope moved south.
disconnected Ekos from the remote indiserver
reconnected to the remote indiserver
Used the north button and the scope moved north.

There is definitely something wrong there.

I'm starting to wonder if this is not linked to the fact that I have not done a sync or start alignment.
