Thank you for always doing a wonderful job.

In the update of ver1.41, all the drivers of the digital setting circle have been deleted. . (Sky Commander, Intelliscope, Magellan I, etc.)

Please reinstate support of DSC by all means.

Add major DSC drivers such as SkyCommander, Intelliscope, NGCMax, NEXUS, Argo Navis, BBox etc..

Which ones do you have? These drivers can only be brought back if there is someone who can test them.

I own a BBox.
I'd like to purchase NEXUS.

By supporting DSC, Kstar and Ekos can do everything from shooting to observation.
Please consider DSC support.

PS: SkyCart supports DSC, but it can not use Raspberry Pi because of insufficient memory.

Ok I added support back to SkyCommander and added a new "Digital Setting Circle" driver. Pleas test the DSC driver with your BBox and report back. It is very important to test it. Enable DEBUG logging to file before you connect to BBox so we have everything recorded.

I confirmed indoors.

I did not understand the method of debugging, so I will first describe the part I noticed.
Please tell me the way of debugging.

With "Digtal Setting Circle guide scope"
About operation

1. Sync command is necessary on the star map of Kstar.
2. Since there is no synchronization command, it can not match with the star map.
3. Ekos 'Clear Alignment Model' button is not functioning.
(2017-03-17T03: 45: 21 Failed to clear Alignment Model.)
4. I hope to choose equatorial mount or Alt Az mount.
5. The encoder is moving, but the movement on the star map is strange.
(Probably being fixing in equatorial mode)
6. It need to be able to enter the resolution of the encoder.

I think that can use it without problems by adding the following three points from the Driver.

1. "Synchronization command" was added to Kstars.
2.Selection of equatorial mount or Alt Az mount.
3. Added encoder resolution input area.

that's all.
Thank you for responding promptly.

The Sky Commander driver was below.

1. The connection has been made but the encoder does not move.
(Because it is BBox ..)
2. Only the equatorial mount mode is set.
(It is necessary to be able to select Alt Az mode.)
3. It need to "sync command" in Kstars.

I do not think that it is necessary to input the focal length and caliber of the telescope in either driver.

(For DSC, it is necessary to enter the resolution of the encoder.)

For reference, I will send you the setting screen of SkyChart.

Ok thanks for the feedback, I never written a DSC driver before, so I'm not sure what to do given the information available. I added a simple offset so the RA and DE values are calculated as following:

RA = RA_ENCODER_VALUE * RA_SCALE + RA_OFFSET
DE = DE_ENCODER_VALUE * DE_SCALE + DE_OFFSET

Are you watching RA & DE encoder values change with your BBox? Doing a "Sync" is not as easy as it sounds unless I use the INDI Alignment Subsystem to build a pointing model for the DSC. A simple "Sync" can be made to figure out the SCALE & OFFSET values for each axis, but these value change in different positions in the sky (hence the need for complex alignment pointing model). Anyway, if the math is done in a different way, let me know.

Is there a "standard" for Digital Settings Circles or each one implements their own command set?

Thank you for your reply.

In the case of DSC, most applications make the following settings.

1. Store the encoder step number in BBox or similar equipment.
2. Equator mount or Alt Az mount selection.
(If the device has that function, it is the device side and star chart software, since BBox does not have that function, it is set with star chart software only.)

3. Set the same number of encoder steps as BBox with the star chart application or PC driver.
4.2 Star alignment is carried out.
(If the device has that function, there is no alignment function in BBox on the device side, so alignment is done with star map application.)

This will match the movement of the star map and the encoder.

If you can make settings similar to the SkyChart settings you attached earlier, you can use it with either equatorial mount or Alt Az mount.

BBox is a simple device based on the use of a star chart.

Only the number of encoder steps can be set on the main unit.
