Now then. Got some info :)

"There is camera_info structure, and miccd_info call. For variants older
then G3 H, you can get in hwrevision bites bits set, if the camera has
internal filter wheel, and how many positions the wheel has."

"For G3 H and newer, I am adding miccd_info_h call. There you can find in
reply if the camera has internal/external filterwheel, and number of
filters."

"I need to decode exact bits from source code which I have from MI. I
will let you know where you can find the details."

So looks like our wait is over soon =D

But still no word from manufacturer about final info for driver

Looks like darknes arrives september 6th, here at 65N, so still have some time :P

And there's allways the option to use windows  and ascom until we get indi observatory working.

You have to nag the manufacturer until they reply to you, it is the only way they will ever care to reply.

The link gives an error. Also, I don't need the files, I need an updated API and Linux library, that's all.

Hi,

Looks like Moravian manufacturer and developer both blacklisted me in their emails or something because haven't been getting any answers from them for some time now.

Now would be a good time to show them that interest for indi drivers are not just one mans needs.

I'm asking everyone reading this post to send an email to "ccd (at) gxccd (dot) com" and "petr (at) kubanek (dot) net" and ask for missing information to build indi driver.

Thank you all who helps.

Finally received answer and questions, had to use friends email to get it thou B)

This is what they replied:

"First, can you explain how (if any) do you plan to distribute Indi
drivers? You are not allowed to distribute MI drivers without approval
from MI. So either plese will you be willing to send us source code/made
it available for INDI, so we can place it on MII web, or make sure users
will have to download MII linux drivers from MII and the
compile/download INDI part."

"I am working on info additions, already has something (the structure is
different, so we will need new functions) and will post results as soon
as I got them. I am working on different projects at the same time
(spent most of July on travels to Hawaii (APM mount) and Madrid (ESA
mount, camera, observatory running RTS2), and I have other duties as
well)."

"Thank for your patience."

My answer:
"Indi drivers will be distributed from indi website and repositories.
MI drivers (if needed with indi drivers) will be distributed ONLY by Moravian.
We can also provide indi driver for you to place on MI website for downloading."

Is this ok??

Ok, so I'm _finally_ back from vacation. Regarding MI "drivers", I assume by this they mean the binary library they're releasing? If that's the case, then we do indeed need their permission to distribute those along with the INDI drivers, since the MI INDI driver would only work if the MI binary library is present. If the user have to download one set of drivers from INDI website, and another set of drivers from another place, they have to do quite a bit of work for linkage ...etc to get the two parts working properly, leading to an awful user experience. Users on Linux would like to download and install the driver and start using their product immediately without hassle.

So in essence, the INDI driver (open source) will link to the MI library (binary), and both would be available for download as "ONE PACKAGE" from INDI 3rd party repository. I hope this clears it up.

So basically we have two options, either get permission to distripute mi binary library or to let them distripute indi driver from mi website only?
