Indeed, he Pro model only removes the additional glow on USB 2.0 ( zwoug.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7543 ).
At first I had some dark corners after dark calibration but there was just a problem with the right temperature (-17°C instead of -20°C). Now, with same settings/temperature, the glow is gone :)

ZWO released an ASI 1600 Pro two weeks ago that has an DDR memory buffer to solve the amp glow problem. But there won't be an upgrade for 1600MM-Cool to Pro ( zwoug.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7528 ). I bought the camera about a month ago, so maybe I will ask my dealer if there is an option to replace it with the new Pro model.

Yes, the fan is active and the temperature changes. It gets up to ~37K below ambient temperature. I got the ZWO power supply some days ago but the glow is still visible :(

I'm using USB 3.0. The glow reduces with bandwith=100 but is still visible. Maybe it's a power supply problem: zwoug.org/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=7469
I tried a 12V 2A and a 12V 10A power supply with same results.

Hi,

I just took some images with an ASI 1600MM-Cool some days ago. I found amp glow, especially in the right upper and bottom corner of the camera in _some_ images. It seems that all images with exposure times of 300s have amp glow while images with 60 or 180s don't have glow (at least I can't see any glow).

Is this a driver problem? I'm using the latest driver from repository.
Gain=139, Offset/Brightness=10, ccd_temp=-20°C

I just took a 600s darkframe with same settings (normalized):

I patched the kernel and uploaded the "not compatible" firmware to the cam but the error is the same. Then I plugged the AS120MC to USB2 port and it's working. The 1600 is also working on USB2 so I think there is something wrong with ODROIDs USB3 drivers.

Thanks for your input!

I'll try to patch my kernel. But this is only about USB 2.0 cameras.
It should'nt affect the ASI 1600 with USB3 that shows the same error.

I have a similar problem.
My setup is:
Odroid XU4 Ubuntu Mate 4.9.52-66 (armv7l)
Indi 1.5.0 from repository
ASI 1600MM-Cool attached at USB3 port
-> ASI 120MC attached at ASI 1600 hub
-> ASI EFW attached at ASI 1600 hub

The filter wheel is working well but camera exposures don't work. I'm getting [ERROR] Exposure failed after 3 attempts. I tried other USB ports - same problem. The 1600MM-Cool was working with Odroid XU4 Ubuntu Mate and Kernel 3.10 but the 120MC had the same exposure error. I also tried the compatible firmware for 120MC - no change.
The setup works fine on my Laptop with Linux Mint and Kernel 4.10.0-35-generic so I think it's an ARM problem?

Hi,

I just updated the tutorial. No it should work with Python2 and 3: indilib.org/develop/tutorials/151-time-l...ith-indi-python.html
Tested with OrangePi zero and Armbian.

If you want to add a cooling period, just add a

time.sleep(cooling_period)
before
self.takeExposure()
in
newBLOB(self, bp)
so it waits some seconds before it resets the exposure timer.

Where does the code poll? At the moment the member functions of the IndiBaseClient are called asynchronous. You just could add a signal handler to terminate the program/endless loop properly.

I was using SatelliteTracker from www.heavenscape.com/ and EQMOD/EQMODLX under Windows XP.
A similar program for INDI would be nice :)

They describe such a function they call a continuous tracking state for a sattrack app used with EQ-Mod.

Maybe if this is open source it can be ported over?
Edit: It's not open source, it's shareware.
I wonder if they would be willing to collaborate on a Linux port, as it appears to be Windows only.
At least this shows that custom slew rates + pulse guiding commands are possible for satellite tracking.
Their website: heavenscape
Their app in action: EQMODLX: Satellite Tracking

I tried the satellite tracker software some years ago with my EQ-6 mount and EQMOD. I tracked several satellites with good precision. Here you can see a video of Globalstar M030 with 8" f/5 newtonian telescope and EOS 550D: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zCBZb180LS0&list...6E455C80F8B&index=22 and another video of Globalstar M003 that shows periodic flares from the satellite: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GQrV28yBU6M

I also tried the ISS and some other satellites but there was the problem that tracking rates above 1000 arcsec/sec (iirc) weren't possible. If the speed changes at tracking rates above 1000 the motors stop for a short time and then start to re-accelerate. This means the mount "jumps" from position to position and doesn't catch the satellite because the ramp acceleration is too slow.
IIRC this is a "feature" of the Skywatcher motor driver to prevent damages on the stepper motors.

Maybe someone fixed this problem. Last time I tried the software was 2011 or 2012.
