Sorry to say. The horizontal line is back. I made one hundred new bias frames with atikccd-1.15-i386.deb on my Arch laptop and find the horizontal line in mean bias frames, and mean darks independent of exposure time. The line is completely removed with bias subtraction.
The horizontal line was absend in 1.3.
Who done it? :-)

I compiled a git clone from Nov. 25th and there are no errors so far. I could test the drivers qhy, atik ans sx. Only the sx driver has a minor problem (see another thred).
On ARCH Linux there are no devel packages. All you need is listed in www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/i686/libindi/. Maybe one should install gpsd, ftdi and ftdi-compat from the ARCH repository and Aravis from wiki.gnome.org/Projects/Aravis, depencies are fond here aur.archlinux.org/packages/aravis/.

Libindi is a really great project. Thanks to all contributors.

Hi. I compiled sucessfully libindi and all 3rdparty drivers version 1.3.1 from sourceforge.net/projects/indi/ on ARCH Linux
. A flatfield with my lodestar shows horizontal stripes each line. These variing pixel values do not show up in a flat made with phd2. There are no zebras with my old QHY5M and my Atik460 driven with the same indiserver.

See the pictures details 100x100 px:

Ok knro, if have done it.
I could compile really all drivers from a clone of github.com/indilib/indi.
But I get an error trying indi_qhy_ccd and indi_sx_ccd.

2016-11-23T08:34:03: Driver indi_sx_ccd: read <getProperties device='SQM' name='SKY_QUALITY'>
2016-11-23T08:34:03: Driver indi_sx_ccd: snooping on SQM.SKY_QUALITY
2016-11-23T08:34:03: Driver indi_sx_ccd: stderr EOF
2016-11-23T08:34:03: Driver indi_sx_ccd: restart #4
Same with qhy.
libatik1.11 works well.

I am not able to compile the drivers from the git sources.
Thank you your very quick response.

Hallo,
on ARCH-Linux there is a problem with indiserver 1.3 and indi_gphoto_ccd. indiserver fails to start with gphoto driver.

indiserver -v indi_gphoto_ccd
2016-11-18T12:59:13: startup: indiserver -v indi_gphoto_ccd
2016-11-18T12:59:13: Driver indi_gphoto_ccd: pid=15280 rfd=3 wfd=6 efd=7
2016-11-18T12:59:13: listening to port 7624 on fd 4
2016-11-18T12:59:13: Driver indi_gphoto_ccd: INDI::CCD::SetTemperature 0.00 -  Should never get here
2016-11-18T12:59:13: Driver indi_gphoto_ccd: stderr EOF
2016-11-18T12:59:13: Driver indi_gphoto_ccd: restart #1
indiserver 1.2 works like a charm.
I tried to compile the sources as a whole with gcc-6.2.1. but it fail in compiling indi_sx_ccd:
[ 31%] Building CXX object indi-sx/CMakeFiles/indi_sx_ccd.dir/sxccd.o

/usr/include/stdlib.h:735:12: note: candidate: int abs(int)
 extern int abs (int __x) __THROW __attribute__ ((__const__)) __wur;
Also the apogee driver did not compile.
I could compile the gphoto driver alone. This works for me, but I am not rally happy with this.

Now I tested the Atik 414 in the observatory in Nuremberg without network connection.
Everything was ok. 414 responded normal as other ccds outside the strange network in this observatory.
Thank you very much for your hints.

I cannot test the 414 until 4th of August. But I think you are right.
At home the indiserver works well if started with network initially on or initially off. But if the network goes down while the server is running the time lags happen again. The cameras are always connected via usb cable and a network connection is not essential.
Wireshark tells something about some standard queries. I do not understand what is going on and what is it good for.

Anyway. There was a problem and a solution where I would think about.
Thank you!

Back again. I tested Atik 460, 420, 414, Lodestar and on old QHY5. I control them all at the commandline with indi_getprop and indi_setprop.

Only the 414 is slow. I measured the time it takes for the prompt to come back.

Atik460:

indiserver -vv indi_atik_ccd 2>serverlog_20170708.txt
wait 1 minute
indi_getprop    --> 3s
indi_setprop "Atik 460ex CCD.CONNECTION.CONNECT=On"  --> imediately
indi_getprop     --> 3s
indi_setprop "Atik 460ex CCD.CCD_TEMPERATURE.CCD_TEMPERATURE_VALUE=-5.0"  --> immediately

Atik414:
indiserver -vv indi_atik_ccd 2>serverlog_20170708.txt
wait 1 minute
indi_getprop  --> 13s
indi_setprop "Atik 414ex CCD.CONNECTION.CONNECT=On" --> 13s
indi_getprop  --> 13s
indi_setprop "Atik 414ex CCD.CCD_TEMPERATURE.CCD_TEMPERATURE_VALUE=-5" --> 13s

To find out what happens I did strace the indi_getprop calls.
So I do not really understand what is going on with the different cams I attach the two files.
That's all I can do for now.

I can play with the 414 not earlier than 7th of July. Then I will compare the times to connect to camera and to start an exposure between 414 and 460.

Thanks

The output of atik_test_ccd is attached.

Vertical lines are the same on all three machines involved. But image captured on windows machines are flipped compared to the indi frames. But that doesn't matter.

Thanks for your very fast answer.
polakovic wrote:

What operating system and what INDI client do you use?
Operating system is Arch linux. I control the ccds via indi_setprop in a little python script.
Can you try to make capture with atik_ccd_test to make sure it is ATIK SDK issue?
atik_ccd_test -short 0.01
The lines are visible.
Now I looked at the files with varoius zoom levels and found that the indi frames have an additional horizontal line at y=1527 (first pixel is 1/1).

I compared mean biases from two ccds: 460 and 420 and computed the ratio of the means captured with artemis and with indi.
The results are
Indi420/Artemis420: mean=1.000124, min=0.974, max=1.026, sigma=0.00533
Indi460/Artemis460: mean=1.000201, min=0.682, max=1.188, sigma=0.01267

Three laptos were involved: Indi420 and Indi460 on an 9 year old Dell Inspiron, Artemis460 on a Lenovo X220 runnig win7. I don't know which laptop was used to make Artemis420, runnig XP.

Summary: Indi produces a horizontal line on 460, vertical lines coincide in both softwares. Biases from 420 are identical.

I will continue with flats to see if there are issues at higher ADU values.
