Fellow users I do apologies and WARN you in advance before you flash your USB 3 ASI120 with USB 2 firmware.

As I did mention that when I flashed my camera the download page had different content and there was no clear mention of USB 2 only.

Performance wise I couldn't clearly benchmark as my camera wasn't working on Ekos when I bought.

Cheers!

Their site is misleading regarding that! In that case, maybe that will solve it.

I think they have changed their software download page recently, when I downloaded the firmware it didn't have USB 2 mentioned in the brackets else I would've never tried :-D

My personal experience has been positive with the firmware update and i only use this camera for autoguding.

All the best :-)

I had similar problem with my ASI120MC-S (USB 3) when I bought it, it just couldn't take any exposure and went into infinite loop in Ekos. I flashed with USB 2.0 *-compatible firmware and since then never had any issue.

I think the cheapest would be ZWO ASI034MC

Or just Google it :-)

Cheers.

I have two ZWO cameras ASI120MC-S and ASI034MC, the ASI120MC-S works fine but ASI034MC exposure goes in loop.

I am using Kstars bleeding on Fedora 25 x86_64

Cheers!
