My wish for 2018 is something like the bahtinov grabber as developed by niels nordhoek. Unfortunately nils died a few years ago. But i gave Ivaylo Stoynov ( developer of APT) the hint to ask nils for the source code and he agreed. APT has a nice bahtinov aid now. perhaps Jasem could contact Ivaylo to share the code. I think that would be in niels interest. I personally prefer the bahtinov way to focus because it is quick, accurate and simple. No hassle with expensive equipment and time consuming V curves. Please Jasem give it a try.

All the best for 2018 and keep the good work going.
Greetings to all astronomers and may you see your perfect sky.

Hello Massimo

asfaik the QHY driver is not even Beta. My recommendation is not to use QHY devices if you dont want to loose precious
time under a perfect sky. Most other CCD drivers work flawlessly. QHY is not interested in the Linux drivers. The support
seems to be dependant on the work of volunteers out of the community.

Sounds like an easy workaround for the problem. So why is nobody acting?
The folks at QHY are primarily working for Windows platforms and dont care
much about Linux. Maybe Jasem will look after that in the next Kstars version?

Best Regards

that sounds interesting to me. can you be more specific about your setup?
pls report as PM if not of general interest.

Hello supernov,

what kind of device do you use now instead of QHY? I think i will also sell my QHY cameras and will never go back to that brand.

Thanx
Robert

Same problem here with two QHYCCD cameras. But they arent working together undependant of the driver settings. If i choose one driver for both...nope.
If i choose qhyccd for CCD an qhyccd for Guider, only one of the cameras operates (if i am lucky).
Seems that EKOS indi is not in a stable condition. Hope that these problems dont occur when you are operating your observatory remote and are a few (hundred) miles
away, which is one of the main reasons for indi. :-(

Just a thought...could it be that the qhy driver should be invoked with an argument that
specifies the USB port to use. If the driver is loaded only once (because of the same camera manufacturer)
the cameras are concurrenting for the same port or the second is not handled by the driver.

Thank you Jasem.
I still have the hope that the problem will go away when i attach a powered USB 2.0 Hub.
Still waiting that it will be delivered.

Thanx

Hi Jasem,

after a break i got my raspberry 3 up and running and installed indilib and kstars.
This will be my future setup whereas the postings before relied on my test setup
with a laptop.
So the problem persisted. I attached 2 QHYCCD cameras to the rpi3 (QHY LM-II and QHY9 with old filter wheel).
Only when one device is connected a capture completes. with both neither of them is operating.

Hope the log helps a bit.

Hi Jasem

thanx for the quick reply.
If i check lsusb no devices are listed just two empty port slots.
I got two CCDs in the control panel but only one working.
If i disconnect the active and connect the other one via control panel its working
and vice versa. Where will if ind the logs?
