Thanks - I realised this was THE solution shortly after posting !! I have since built 1.7.9 and it appears to be working as expected!

I would like to install INDILib on my Debian Intel laptop (64 bit). This is running Debian 10.0 "stable".

I tried the install process for Ubuntu (which normally works for other applications) but get this...

phil@phil-astro-laptop:~$ sudo apt-add-repository ppa:mutlaqja/ppa

What am I missing - should there be something else installed first?

Looking at gphoto2 it would appear that the camera does not support "capture-image" mode via PTP - shame really. I guess SONY have their reasons.

Thanks for the assistance - will look at other capture methods!

OK - not sure I am doing this correctly!
Followed the post you referenced but couldn'y fing a indi_sony_ccd_dbg to install. I did install the indi_gphoto_dbg
From terminal ran: gdb --ex run --eval-command="set follow-fork-mode child" --args indiserver -v indi_sony_ccd
Then started KSTARS and set the debug option in the driver as per instructions - connected to camera and it crashed....
did a bt in gdb and copied the output. Attached are two files: the debug log file and a copy of the gdb output.

It's getting late so I will pick up tomorrow - thanks for any pointers

What do I need to do to initiate a debug of the Indi_sony_ccd driver? I don't see a debug option in the logs area.

Attached is log that had the following parameters set: Verbose/INDI/CCD/Capture.

Cheers

New user of KSTARS / INDI here.

I have a Sony SLT-A55 that I would like to use for imaging. Reading the information - which can be a bit confusing sometimes - it should work.
When I start EKOS I get a pop up :-

"[WARNING] Warning: Didn't find an exposure widget! Are you sure the camera is set to Bulb mode? "

It is in BULB mode.

I am running UBUNTU 18.04 with latest INDI - all software installed from scratch 2 days ago and latest updates applied. Below is an extract from the INDI log file.

Any pointers please?

i'm just getting into astronomy again and have a Skywatcher Evostar ED80 with Skywatcher Evoguide ED50 (on HEQ5 mount) and a ZWO 120MM CCD to use for guiding.

I am using a Raspberry Pi 3B as the 'remote' controller for this set up. I have used the rlancaste script to set up AstroPi3 and it all seems to work with the exception of the CCD. Using PHD2 directly on the Pi I can connect to mount and guider and can control the scope position with KStars without any problem I am wanting to use PHD2 for guiding. Without Kstars running I start up PHD2 on the Pi and get the first light start up process. I select the camera, it asks if it is connected (it is) and it gets the pixel size automatically. I continue and select On-Camera for the connection (using ST4 port on camera connected to HEQ5). I continue not selecting Aux Mount or Ao and it prompts for a profile name - I give it one and allow it to do a dark frame library. It tells me there is no compatible dark frame library and I press start to generate one, I cover the CCD/guide scope and continue. A very short while later the PHD2 screen disappears and that is it.

The 120MM works when connected to a Windows system.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get beyond this point please?
