I run Stellarmate X OS on Mele Quiter3Q (less than $200 + $50 for Stellarmate OS).
Mele runs well and I have two of them. Dual HDMI supported (I never used that though).
Mele comes with Windows preinstalled but you don't need Windows, just install Stellarmate over it.
I also tried and installed Ubuntu + KStars + Ekos on Mele.
It worked and was free but I prefer Stellarmate.

Binary Factory seems to be retired - where to download latest builds?
I found this - invent.kde.org/education/kstars/-/artifacts
I guess it's still being tested?

Thanks!

First, it worked just fine not long ago.
Second, VNC resolution corresponds to Stellarmate's 1920x1080.

Hello,
I am using UltraVNC as a VNC viewer on Windows PC's.
Has been using it for years.

Since several months ago I am getting severe artefacts in KStars sky map when connected via VNC.
Using latest stable Stellarmate X OS on Mele.

it's not a very big deal but looks unpleasant.
Is this my VNC viewer problem or something else? Thanks!

Good information.
Thank you very much!

Hy,
I checked the memory usage (in Windows' Task Manager).
Before I started KStars my memory usage was 10.5GB.
After I started KStars - memory usage went up to 11.2GB. Not much.
Enabling/disabling overlays didn't make any difference.

Just reporting.
Thanks!

Hy,
I rearranged some of my overlays.
This wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.

When I started to use the overlays, the plate-solving was a bit unreliable and I had to provide an approximate position.
Now plate-solving works much more reliably in the blind mode (i.e. without providing the approximate position).
Great!

Question:
I have now around 80 overlays sized 500KB on average.
I don't notice any KStars slowdown.
Can I add 80 more? 800 more?

Thanks!

"And Max, your Baldr and my Bluetti are essentially the same thing with different packaging."

Yes, this is very likely.
But I never even tried to power my things via Baldr's AC socket.
Always used its USB and 12V outputs.

Glad you got it working.
I have been using a Baldr 288Wh Power Station when in the field for three years now. Works fine for me. Never failed.
I also have a bunch of smaller Talencell 5v+12v batteries which I use to power different bits and pieces (like dew heaters, DSLR, etc).
When at home I use generic 110V/12V power bricks.

It was an easy fix. Deleted and recreated the 135mm train. Problem solved.
Sorry. I should've tried this before reporting.

I have an AM5.
For it, it is important before starting anything else, to Home the mount (in INDI control panel).
One time is enough (if you don't restart the computer).
Then, I usually Unpark, Park (my position is to point to Polaris/NCP) and Unpark.
After this the mount slews just fine.

When you do the polar alignment - the mount has to be Unparked.
After the polar alignment is finished the mount is Parked - you need to Unpark it.

Hello,
This became to be the case after the previous update (when the Auto-focus things were moved to Options).
Still the case after the latest update.
I have several image trains configured - all look good.
Among them I have a 135mm which doesn't even have a focuser associated with it.
However, in the Focus Tab a can only select the 135mm train.
All other trains are shown but if I try to select another train - 135mm stays.
Auto focus still works - it uses the correct camera and focuser.

Any idea?
(I guess, the recommendation would be to recreate the trains... :(
Thanks!

Hello,
This is just an FYI.
I just upgraded to the recent bi-monthly update and after that couldn't connect to AM5 mount.
I was about to panic but soon discovered that the driver changed its name to two different names: AM5 USB and AM5 WIFI.
Selected AM5 USB. It worked and I ran a successful session.
I used almost everything, including the Scheduler. But I didn't use the auto focuser.
No issues.

Thanks!

Thank you for the advice, Hy!
Maybe I'll rebuild my overlays someday.
