Hello Max,

thank you very much for your proposal. I downloaded the program but I couldn't find any tool for rotating. I think I will write to the author, whether he can implement the feature in SerPlayer or PIPP.

Greetings,
Jörg!

Hi there!
How can I rotate a SER-file by 90 degrees. I didn't find any suitable program so far.
I use an Atair 178MM cam with my LHIRESIII for spectroheliography to capture the H alpha line. In order to use the full length of the chip I positioned the line horizontally. But unfortunately the used software wants it in the perpendicular position.
Thanks for any hints.
Jörg!

Sorry, it was my fault! I didn't see the notice: ".... if you are connected to a remote INDI server, then the directory must be a valid directory on the remote file system where it is saved."

Hi there,
if I want to start a video capture with my Altair 178MM, I get the following error message in the indi controls (streaming):

2020-09-20T19:17:45: [WARNING] Can not create record directory /home/joschi/Video/: Permission denied
2020-09-20T19:17:45: [WARNING] mkpath: can not create /home/joschi
2020-09-20T19:17:45: [INFO] Record file is /home/joschi/Video/Saturn.ser
2020-09-20T19:17:45: [INFO] Starting video record.

Don't know why indi wants to create the above mentioned directory? It's already there!
Any idea how to fix this?

Greetings,
Jörg!

Good question, but it was.
My suspicion is that the function 'search a guide star' cannot be called correctly at the change from the old starfiel to a new one. Nothing like 'searching for guide star' is written to the log. Perhaps the old values (coordinates) are transferred or the guide module doesn't realize that there is a new starfield. Could even be a very simple cause that has been overlooked. Programming is a heavily mined terrain!

Yesterday I had a close look on the guide module working, when slewing from one variable star to the next. I think the issue is that guiding is not searching for a guide star when it resumes its work.
When the first picture of the new area is coming in, the green square stays where it was, when guiding the variable star before. In most cases there is no star in the green square then. But in order to serach for a new guide star the module stays there and guides on whatever I don't know. After a while the guiding module reports: "Delta RMS threshold value exceeded. Searching for guide star." Within some millis the green square is locked on a suitable guide star and everything works fine ........ until the next variable. Would be nice if this could be fixed.
I hope my English is good enough to understand what I mean.

At first glance this method seemed quite uncomfortable to me but on the other hand it opens the door to building interesting batches of nightly tasks, e.g. variables and pretty pictures.

Hi there,
and agai
when I have a job in the scheduler with let's say four variable stars which I want to observe throughout the whole night, it is only done once no matter what I've marked in the job completion conditions section (because this affects only the sequences). Is there a chance, that it could run for several hours? Var1 --> Var2 --> Var3 --> Var4 and again form the beginning and again and again. Hope you understand what I mean.

Jörg!

Hello Reiner,
and thank you for the hint. Now I can use the handbox, even remotely. There are some error messages during the connection process (sse attachment) but they are not harmful as it seems .
As Wildi already wrote, the Dynostar doesn't understand all comands.

Greetings,
Jörg!

Hello wildli and Reiner,
I use the Dynostar X3 too. Until now it works more or less with the lx200basic indi-driver. Sync, goto ,track and so on work fine. The only problem is the use of the software handbox in ekos. Only the stop key has its function.

Greetings,
joschi!
