No doubt a silly question : using VNC on windows to connect to Astroberry I can copy and paste from ubuntu terminal to windows but not the other direction.

The instructions here: www.realvnc.com/en/connect/docs/copy-paste-text.html
do not help ... VNC server configuration looks fine.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Stephen

One thing to keep in mind on the remote terminal. . . on the ubuntu terminal the commands for copy and paste are not ctrl c and ctrl v. They are shift-ctrl-C and shift-ctrl-V

It really depends on VNC client. In some of them you need to enable copy+paste. Also you can try pasting with just a right click in terminal window. It's an old-school way (as much as middle click).

Well a work around anyway.

Enabled 3 button mouse emulation in VNC client (I have two button mouse) and left/right button simultaneous click pasted text from windows pc to rpi.

This is a feature not a bug ;-) In pure terminal copy function has always been handled by just selecting text and pasting by right click/middle click or (I forgot about it) left+right click. It is only recently that terminal emulators in graphical environment started to support windows-like copy and pasting. It is not Ctrl+C & Ctrl+V but Ctrl+Shift+C & Ctrl+Shift+V
I'm glad it works for you anyway!
