Dear limburg,

I received today the dongle, and I ask to BrosTrend for the ticket for rpi drivers, but today is friday and probably to monday I dont receive any reply. Do you remember how to install and where I can download the drivers for my RPI4?

Thanks,

Wow, that was a prompt delivery. When I asked for the drivers, I received the following link with instructions to install the driver:

deb.trendtechcn.com/

It took quite a while (the driver had to be compiled, but all was automated), but after it finished, I restarted the Pi and the Wifi stick worked perfectly. Then you have two Wifi devices in your Pi, wlan0 = builtin Wifi and wlan1 = BrosTrend stick.

Opsss, i installed first the b option (to install the 88x2bu driver for the ACL1 or ACL3 versión 2 models). Non errors showed. Restar the pi and I continúe only with 1 wifi device....

Then I tried to install option a (to install the 88x2bu driver for the ACL1 or ACL3 versión 2 models) with the same result, 1 only wifi device....

Then I can't install the correct driver....

Hi Jose,

do you have the dongle connected to the Pi prior to installing? The installer script didn‘t offer me options - is recognized the dongle by itself.

Bernd

I have that Bros Trend USB Stick

Plug in the Stick
Connect Lan to RPI with internet
sudo bash (root)
and then:
sh -c 'wget deb.trendtechcn.com/installer.sh -O /tmp/installer.sh && sh /tmp/installer.sh'

Let it run, needs a while

Since the built in wifi is degraded by the heatsink/ case I am using, external Wifi sounds like a good idea.

According to the adafruit website : "Look for a WiFi adapter that supports the RTL8192cu chipset the latest Raspbian distributions both have support for this built-in."

I just ordered this: www.adafruit.com/product/1030

I will update with how easy it is to use (I hope) soon after it arrives...
