Hello,
Back in December 2018 I started using Stellarmate/KStars/Ekos with a DSLR (D5300) as an imaging camera.
I just checked my archives - I was shooting RAW Native (NEF) and saving to both client and camera's SD card.
Image download time was about 8 sec.
Soon after I switched to an OSC camera.
My OSC died recently (sending it for repairs to ZWO tomorrow).
So, I tried to use a DSLR as an imaging camera tonight (just a test with simulators).
Now it's D5500 (about the same as D5300).
When I use RAW Native (NEF), the image download time is close to 20 sec now!
A bit too long...
When I use FITS, the image download time is down to 8 sec.
I am OK with using FITS but why such a big difference?
Why it was so much faster four years ago?
Thanks!

ZWO AM5. RST-135. AZ-GTI. HEQ5. iOptron SkyTracker.
TPO RC6. FRA400. Rokinon 135 and other lenses.
ZWO ASI2600MC. D5500 modified with UVIR clip-in filter.
ZWO ASI120MM Mini x 2. ZWO 30F4 guider. Orion 50mm guider.
ZWO EAF x 3.
Today I prepared a new SD card (USB stick rather) with the latest Stellarmate 64-bit (basically a copy of the stick used in my first post)
and set it up to use with an AZ-GTi mount and a Nikon D5500 DSLR.
Used the same USB cable to the camera.
Now I am getting 8 sec download times with NEF and less than 2 sec with FITS.
Much better - I like this!
Don't understand why it improved though...
Now I have a copy of one of my first setups from almost four years ago.
My failed ASI2600MC is on its way to ZWO US service center.
