CCD FAQ

CCD FAQ was created by Jasem Mutlaq

ATTENTION: Never ever run indiserver or KStars as root user. Not only it is a bad practice security-wise, but it can lead sometimes to unexpected behavior and poor performance. Only run as root when strictly necessary and you know what you are doing.

1. How do I retain my CCD settings for future use?

Go to Options tab and click "Save" next to Configuration property.

2. ASI Camera is looping exposures indefinitely?

Flash the ASI firmware with the "compatible" firmware versions. Download the Windows-only firmware updated, and select the "compatible" firmware for your camera. Furthermore, according to ZWO, this is hardware limitation as the MCU of ASI USB2.0 camera is not powerful enough amd needs very fast response from the USB host, most windows do it very well but not linux. ZWO's USB3.0 camera won't have such problem.

some suggestion:
1.set the "USB BANDWIDTH" to minimal value
2.connect the camera to the PI directly, no hub or extender
3.try shorter the cable ( such like half meter, or 1 meter)
4.no other USB device

Anyone who has any useful QA please post it below and I'll copy it here so everyone can see.
