Hi,

I have been trying to get my Qhy minicam 5f to work with StellarMate, but Stellarmate does not recognize it.
Is there any plans for a driver for the camera?

Best regards Lars

What's the VID:PID of this cam? I asked QHY to confirm if it is currently supported by their SDK.

EDIT: Qhy responded and said it is supported, can you find out the exact VID:PID? run lsusb command to get a list of your USB devices.

Hi Knro,

I got it working.
I ran lsusb command and got 1618:0931. I found out that it means that the firmware is loaded onto the camera.
So the next thing I did was to write Stellar Mate image to my SD card again and start over again.

And this time it worked.

Thanks for the help.

Best regards

Hi Knro,

I got the same error message yesterday evening then I was trying different settings to learn to use the EKOS.
Error message;
INDI SERVER Message -- Kstars
No QHY camera detected. Power on?
(See attached picture)

Here is that I have done today to try to fix the problem;
(May be I am doing something wrong)

1. I have downloaded StellarMate 1.29 image and wrote it to my SD card to start over again.
2. Put in the USB cabel from the QHY minicam 5F camera. (this is the third USB cabel I am trying with.)
3. I put in the SD card and turned on my raspberry pi and waited for ubuntu mate to finish starting up.
4. I started Kstars and then I clicked on the Ekos symbol, to start Ekos.
5. Then I clicked "next" in Ekos profile Wizard.
6. Clicked "Equipment is attached to this computer".
7. Clicked "Create profile & Select devices".
8. Here I only chose "QHY CCD" in CCD and no other devices.
9. To finish I clicked "Save".
10. In Ekos window I clicked "Start INDI".

Here I got the same error message again.
Error message;
INDI SERVER Message -- Kstars
No QHY camera detected. Power on?
(See attached picture)

I have attached some picture taken from the TV I am using with the StellarMate.

Here after I tried the QHY minicam 5f camera on a windows 10 machine I have used before with the camera.
I did not have any problems with the camera in windows 10. It worked with out any error messages.

I vent back to Stellar Mate and tried with the second QHY camera I have. It is a QHY 5L II color camera.
I used the same profile as before with QHY minicam 5f. I clicked "Start INDI" and a second window pop up with all the settings for that camera.
I vent into "CCD & filter wheel" fan and pressed "preview" button and got a preview picture.

The last thing I have done is to run lsusb command in terminal window. I have attached a picture showing the result with the QHY minicam 5f.

What can I do next ??

Best regards,
Lars

Lars:

I’m only doing a couple of things different than you, not sure if this would make a difference?

I don’t plug any of my equipment in until after my StellarMate is powered up and booted.
I’m running Kstars on my Mac and connecting to the StellarMate over WiFi.

Are you letting everything update to the latest version before trying the camera? Doe you have the camera plugged into the 12v supply. I don’t think this would have any impact but I’ve always had my camera powered with the 12v supply.

Regards,
Mike

Lars D, this requires additional investigation. Can you please open a support ticket at StellarMate so we can follow up from there?
