Preview fine, live video completely black (nearly full moon)

Hello,

I tried taking photos of the moon yesterday with my Canon 7D. Unfortunately I could get no live video from the camera working in Ekos, although preview pics taken were fine.

I know it worked before, so it must be an settings problem. Can you give me a hint, what I should check?

Thanks in advance

Amin

I tried again with the ZWO cam, same issue, I was even able to set the exposure times and the calculated FPS are fine, also the log message, just the window is completely black.

Yesterday evening it worked again with both cameras (7D and ASI 290 MC). Strange. However when viewing live video of the ASI, it always display strange blocks in the video, which makes it really hard e.g. to focus manually. These blocks are not on the images taken. Also the live video is BW only, is that correct?

I attached a screenshot of a live video. Ignore, the brightness, that is due to taken the example in complete daylight, I could not get the exposure down enough.

Thanks a lot. Works great now.

Do you also have a solution for the missing temperature issue (see my other post)?

Regards

I tested and temperature is reported just fine in the FITS header.

Not for me, just tested again, the temperature is shown in the Indi control panel as well as the Ekos control panel, but it does not get recorded in the FITS image for me.

Below is the FITS-header of a photo I just took. Are there any settings to check?

NAXIS = 3 / number of data axes
NAXIS1 = 1936 / length of data axis 1
NAXIS2 = 1096 / length of data axis 2
NAXIS3 = 3 / length of data axis 3
EXTEND = T / FITS dataset may contain extensions

Try to use the nightly PPA and see if you still have the same issue.

I am on OS X. Where do I find the nightly PPA. I found only the stable release from February in the download section.

This one does not. It is the ZWO ASI 290 MC. But the temperature is correct displayed in the Indi control panel and also in the Ekos control panel, so it gets transmitted.
