Ok...ran the dbg version and it works! Perhaps the camera USB port wasn't reset properly from a previous attempt and there was something left that caused an issue.

To ensure a good starting point, I rebooted my obs server and physically disconnected / reconnected the camera and ran indiserver without the debug and it works.

Here's the output from the debug if it helps:

Does it correctly detect number of filter wheel slots and load them correctly? i.e. restore names..etc?

Ahh! good question - I don't have a filter wheel attached through the QHY163m (although it seems to think I have one connected - I manually remove it in EKOS within the camera, focus and solver panes.)

I'm using the older QHY9 filter wheel in pseudo-manual mode by sending the appropriate character to the filter independent of the QHY163m. When I get time to learn how to build a driver, I'll build one for the older filter wheel.

Same problem has reared its head again ... did the old code get re-introduced somehow?

I ran gdb and got the backtrace - hope this helps ... I looked at the code, but it doesn't look much like FORTRAN IV, so I doubt I'll be much use ... ;-)

Thanks for the test! Can you please git pull and compile/install and try again? I added a couple of more debug statements to see what filter count the SDK is returning to us. I suspect it could be quite an INVALID value, but let's see.

Thanks, so the QHYSDK initially returns a wrong large number that caused the crash. Ok, please git pull and test again now.

Camera is working again. Looking at the code, and assuming I'm reading it correctly, I wonder if there is some confusion with regards to what the driver returns: The QHY163 can support a filter, but in my case, there is no filter, and I don't know if the driver is confused between the ability to support a filter as opposed to an actual filter present and attached to the camera.

Log attached for completeness.

This works - the EKOS Camera, Focus and Solver panes now correctly shows there is no filter connected. Thanks for you help!

Hi,

Last update of Indi (1.7.7) comes with QHY SDK 5.0.3 and my QHY163m now works under linux...but not my filter wheel that is connected through camera port.
