the power supply for the RPi3 comes from a 12V power (230V) adapter through a 12-to-5V converter and has plenty of amps. I do not use any USB hubs.
Today I will setup my RPi4B as a stellarmate computer and try again. Later I will post my experiencec to this board.
I have never had any problems with the camera untill two days ago. I have tried different versions of Kstars from 3.3.6 but it behaves just like you described it. It works with ASICAP though so theres is nothing wrong with the camera.
Erland
I use two ASI cameras (120MC-S and 1600MM-C) at the same time on KStars 3.3.9 and do not have any problems at all. Last time I tried was on Saturday night (5 days ago). I use a Minisforum mini-pc with USB3 ports.
I ran Kstars 3.3.8 on a WINDOWS 8.1 laptop and have the stellarmate RPi3 remotly connected by WiFi network. A day before I experienced this problem I had numerous shutdowns and restarts of Windows because of updates. What Windows do you run guys?
No Windows here either. The mini-pc runs Ubuntu MATE 18.04 (soon to be upgraded to 20.04) and I usually connect either from my iPad or from my MacBook using VNC.
