I just started up KStars/EKOS/INDI to capture some darks. The ASI camera drivers are telling me both cameras are in streaming mode, and I cannot reset the imaging camera to 16-bit because it is streaming. On the streaming tab, stream is off.
I'm running the following packages from the PPA:
kstars-bleeding 3.5.0+202011202349~ubuntu20.04.1
libindi 1.8.7~202011211018~ubuntu20.04.1
indi-asi 1.8~202008220007~ubuntu20.04.1
libasi 1.10~202011211536~ubuntu20.04.1
All the equipment in this profile is from ASI, two ASI cameras, an ASI EFW and the ASI EAF. One of the relevant indi_asi_ccd logs is attached for information.
You are not alone. I thought this was a transient issue as a re-compile of master fixed it for me, but that was on an older build than what you are using. There have been at least 3 reports of this now, here is the other thread: indilib.org/forum/ccds-dslrs/8206-proble...-asi-ccd-driver.html
Perhaps it was only a reboot of the system that cleared it and something else is going on that sets this bad state.
I tried a reboot in the event there was something running I didn't realize, but that didn't fix it.
I prefer to use the more stable branch, and it looks like I will need to wait for Jasem to do the necessary update to that. Fortunately, there are clouds in the forecast for the next several days.
I had the same problem about a week ago. Fortunately I realized it after the first 10 frames and before I went under for the night.
I fixed it by compiling the drivers including 3rd party drivers from sources. It has not recurred since (but I also have not updated the drivers in the meantime).
