Have I understood correctly that this camera treats LCG/HCG differently from the ASI2600mm and QHY268m? More specifically, is it true that:
  • I can use both LCG and HGC at gain == 0
  • I can use both LCG and HGC at gain > 0
I see from the photo that there's also an HDR mode, what's that?

Last info from Risingcam

"Hello Pat  Engineer said we don't have this threshold but engineer suggest you could use LCG within 18db,  if more than 18db, use HCG is better Eddie"

I don't know about HDR. Maybe it can takes 2 captures one LCG, other in HCG. But this is only a supposition.
I am not sure it is useful for us.

Hello, thanks a lot!
Just to confirm: by db they mean gain right?
So: LGC gain <=18, HCG gain > 18

Good to know! They just told me that the mono imx571 is available!! Now I'm really torn about what to do...

Yes that is what I understand. Those 18db are coherent with a 900 gain.

Ah ok, I've just seen the graph with the gain/gain(dB).
Man, this camera works in a weird way xD it even start at gain 100.

I don't understand all in this paper, but it seems that there is all explanations for all parameters that are in the control tabs.
www.imagesensors.org/Past%20Workshops/20...019%20Papers/R06.pdf
I will try to read, re-read it as long as I can't understand all (if I succeed to).
Maybe HDR combine low and high gain to give a better result. Who knows ?

Another good information. The binning modes are usable with this cam. It looks like there is a matrix arrangement that allows it.

The more I look at the graphs, the less I understand.
Why would they suggest to enable HGC at gain 18db (900)?
According to the graphs, everything gets really worse at such high gain compared to, for example, gain 3.95db.
I'm really puzzled...

I asked them about the amount of memory and how to use the graphs they provided, because it seems that for both LCG//HCG the best would be gain 0. The reply was:

Our Camera Memory is 512MByte
LCG: Low Conversation Gain, Low Gain, low noise, low brightness, better image quality HCG: High Converation Gain, High Gain, more nosie, higher brightness, this is good for low light condition No matter LCG or HCG, 0 Gain can get better image quality

Engineering should come up with a standard version for all customers, because they said a different thing to another user

Yep, that HCG should be used with gain 900 and greater. But looking at the graph, I'd never use gain 900 with HCG on this camera. It simply doesn't seem to be the best (again, according to the graphs).
