Yes, a very naive question from a not-really-programmer:
How is the initial size of tool windows set?
Background: I use the Flag Manager a lot. And each time I open it, I get a window that is so narrow that the table with defined flags doesn't fit the width, and I cannot read the names unless I first resize it to some reasonable value.
I found flagmanager.ui, and in there the definition of "geometry" and 'width" which I changed to a larger value, and recompiled.
But the window is still narrow as before - Why?
If you're running a KDE system (I used SuSE ages ago, was KDE at that point in time) right-click on the window bar, select "more actions" -> "Configure special window settings". You can set size and position there.
Oh cool, I wasn't aware you can adjust it that fine-grained!
Yes, on the laptop I use KDE. On the Pi however it's icewm....
But I did find a (proper?) workaround in the meantime, in specifying a minimum width for the table
