hi Wolfgang,
I've a roll of roof, and yes, Observatory works as expected with mine: unpark opens, park closes (*).
Moreover, opening is inhibited if weather is not ok.

(*) as you know there was recently a discussion whether or not this was the right approach.

Replied by Derek on topic New EKOS Observatory module

Nice work!
Will the scriptable dbus interface be the same as the current Ekos::Dome ?

Hi Derek,
it is not on the top priority list, but the current Ekos::Dome remains accessible. As stated above I would like to hand over this module to someone who owns an observatory.

Dear KStars friends,
directly hot from code-kitchen here a new screenshot of the Observatory module. Meanwhile, I have implemented a simple form of reactions on weather warnings and alerts. The core idea is to define, which actions should be taken in case of warnings and alerts. In case that a warning or alert is active for a certain amount of time, the defined actions (closing the shutter, parking the dome) will be taken. See the links above if you want to test it.

And no, neither the telescope nor scheduler receive a message. This is the next step. Stay tuned...

As always: feedback and critics warmly welcome.

- Wolfgang

hi Wolfgang,
tested the latest version, attached a screenshot.
The park delay on Warning / Alerts works just fine and it's great! thanks.
Minor issues:
- on startup the Weather status icon is not shown (see picture). But when status changes the icon is back.
- If the dome doesn't have shutter, the shutter controls on the right shouldn't be visible.
- I rather prefer a delay in seconds.

I'll write you a PM later.

Hi Ferrante,
which weather module do you use? It seems like it behaves differently than the Simulator. Or do you get the same behaviour with the missing icon with the WeatherSimulator as well?
If secs are better, OK, I will change it.

hi Wolfgang,
Using Weather Watcher. But I can't recreate the status icon issue anymore. I will let you know if I understand the condition for this to happen.

I'm extremely fond of Astrospheric.com . I know the author allows imbedding of his weather information into webpages. I use it on my current website. But I would love for something like that imbedded into the panel similar to how I have it mocked up.

Seems like a nice website to me. Is there anything similar that is not only for North America?

Aww that’s too bad. There must be a more global service. I would think they need to provide transparency, seeing data, and most weather services don’t offer the info. But, I’m guessing you can derive seeing and transparency from temperature changes, humidity and cloud coverage.

There is clearoutside.com that provides global weather forecast that could be embedded in web pages or apps.

Here comes the next iteration: I implemented a simple status model of the observatory:
