For me this beta installs as 3.5.2 beta. I see that by clicking on KStars in the Apple menu and then About KStars:

Replied by Ron M on topic New KStars 3.5.2 DMG to test

Thanks. This morning I found the 3.5.2 install was renamed in the Applications dir., since I kept previous versions. So re-named and opened the 'right' 3.5.2 and still got the could not find no indi directory' errors. I found the INDI directory 'boxes' unchecked in the 3.5.1 Indi menu under Options (there is nothing called "configurations" I could find. and rechecked them and both Canon M50 and ZWO (and mount now connect ok and work from the camera module in in 3.5.2. -at least in daylight. Will see if this is all true after the Indi /EKOS vampires come out after dark. I see there are some new features in the mount INDI panel for linking to a dome which took me a couple minutes to figure out where/how to turn that off since I don't have a dome and mount would not respond until that was turned off. Seems like that default should be for no dome... Onward into the dark...

Yes I found the dome issue as well though I assumed that it was me because this was the first time that I used KStars on this MacBook. I agree that it should be set to no dome.

Hello,

I'm testing it now. The only issue that I have is that I cannot establish a connection to PHD2 but its server is running.
Any ideas?

Greetings

Hi Rob,
No calibration prior to guiding is possible with KStars 3.5.2
The process stops after RA drifting. It never reaches DEC drifting.
I could complete the calibration with KStars 3.4.1 + KStars 3.4.2 + KStars 3.4.3 and could have a normal astro session with my 2 ZWO cameras

Jean Claude,

Have you ever used 3.5.0? The reason I ask is the big change in 3.5.0 was StellarSolver, and that can impact guiding and calibration in a big way if it isn't set up well for your setup. There is a stellarsolver setup for guiding in the guide options. If that's your issue, Rob's a better resource than me. In any case, could you retry and set a debug log with guide logging on, and perhaps I can see what's going on.

Hy,
I didn't try 3.5.0 and I will report the result as soon I'll get the opportunity.
Thanks

Hy,
KStars 3.5.0 allows guiding as usual
Thus the bug appeared in beta KStars 3.5.2

OK. Thanks for checking that out.
Please point me to a log (guide debug logging enabled) with 3.5.0 successful and 3.5.2 failing.
I did try to recreate last night, but things worked for me.

Those logs don't seem like the right thing.
When I unzip I get two very small binary files.
Do you have debug logging to file turned on for guide?

Thanks

Jean Claude,

Thanks for testing and I'm sorry there seems to be a guiding issue. I'm glad Hy got it narrowed down with you a little bit. I don't know everything that was changed in KStars recently since I was taking a break after getting StellarSolver working. Just a thought, maybe we should test if it works in 3.5.1. That might help to narrow it down a little more. I know that I forgot to include ZWO in 3.5.1, but it could still be tested if we could copy the right drivers and libraries that they depend upon from 3.5.2 to 3.5.1. Let me know if you would like to try and I can see if that would be doable.

Thanks,

Rob
