easily reproducible, and astroids also fail.

Unfortunately logs are not much help here:

[2021-10-10T09:31:32.453 CDT CRIT ][                org.kde.kstars] - "Data verification failed"

and this was the only thing on the console:

Call to writableLocation without an application-based location.

According to the link above, asteroids are fixed, but it still doesn't work for me, and comets isn't working either.
I'm using astroberry and everything is up to date with apt update && apt upgrade
So what else can I do to get this working?

i AM ALSO GETTING THIS MESSAGE. I have Kstars ver 3.4.3 - the most current in the raspian bullseye (64 bit) repository. There does not appear to be any data for either asteroids or comets. I can do search on Ceres for instance and nothing comes up - even if I go to the internet option. Has there been an update on this? From the link above it sounds like there was a change in data formatting.

Allen, AFAICS Kstars 3.4.3 is more than 3 years old. You should get an up-to-date version as numberless improvements have been implemented since then.
