BleedingEdge: KStars maxing out compvis CPU

Running in a Virtualbox VM, the compvis process is going nuts. Virtual box VMs have 128MB video memory, with no 3D acceleration.

Is there a way to seperate the render update vs the model within Kstars? So that the rendering for the skymap is only updated every X seconds (i.e. realtime through to every 5 minutes)? During standard capture or use I don't need to waste the CPU time. This would make kstars much more small device friendly.

Switching on 3D acceleration has the compvis drop to 16%.

The issue is that for the odriod C2 and many of the small device computer setups, the GPU (used for the 3D acceleration) shares it's memory with CPU thus still causes a large bottleneck on the memory bus (on the MBP I'm running on - that's less of an issue with a discrete GPU).

We're working on a KStars Lite version that should be ready in a few months.
