Just to clarify, you are using Jasem's Stable INDI PPA to install KStars, INDI, StellarSolver etc?

launchpad.net/~mutlaqja/+archive/ubuntu/ppa

If so, I can let him know you had an issue.

Excellent stuff, Gents! Thanks an awful lot for your work. This is an important improvement right at the heart of Ekos image taking. Each and every photo taken with an OSC cam will profit from it!

Hi Rob,
Yes. I used Jasem's Stable INDI PPA. I solved the problem by reinstalling Linux Mint.

Now I use Kubuntu 20.04.4 and everything works.

Thank you for the technical support ;-)

I think the changes I made today in the colorChannels branch should be a big improvement. I finally solved a couple of the problems I was having. You guys might want to check it out. I'm not ready to merge it into the main branch yet since I want to do some more tests, as it is a big change that if it is not done right could break things, but you might see if you see any issues or if it works better.

A quick question: When using AF for an OSC camera from EKOS, is it automatically sending debayered images to stellarsolver, or do I have to change the readout type (in the INDI camera tab) to RGB or something like that?

Checked with a handful of recent images and it works as expected on a Raspberry PI (4GB + Astroberry 2.0.3). If I compile and install stellarsolver from the colorChanel branch and then build KStars, it will use this new version, isn't it?

By the way... do you know if a local .deb package could be built from the local compilation? I'm asking, because my development machine is not the same that the one I use to drive my equipment ;)

Thanks a lot for your work

No need to perform any change. Ekos is performing a quick debayer operation and sending the RGB image to Stellarsolve

No I just mean for now that I need to make sure there are no issues with the changes I made in the branch before I push to the main branch. For now, I'm not going to add the ability in KStars to select which channel to use, we will just keep the default that I made where it will now use green if there are RGB channels and just use the buffer if there is just one channel. I think we can add the feature to select which channel is preferred later. This should give us enough time that people will update to the new version before I add the changes to KStars, then we won't break people's builds

So I've compiled the latest stellarsolver (2.2-44_g9d4efa4) and kstars on my Pi4, which I use to control my ASI183MC attached to an old Canon FD 135mm lens. Everything worked very smooth, with a clear AF curve, but when I look at the result, the stars in the red channel look much better than in the green channel, which actually is the worst of all three (IMO).
Not sure though if that has to do with the 'quality' of the lens :(
I'll try an AF run tonight with storing the images (hope I find them...), maybe that tells me more.
