indi/ekos (the latest from the ppa)

Hardware: sbig ST8XME+filter wheel, Vixen VMC200, AZEQ6GT, robofocus.

1ST PROBLEM:

I started kstars, then indi, then clicked "connect".
Then hard crash occurs. Restarting kstars and indi, then click "connect". Only my ccd-camera connects. I try to restart ekos+indi+kstars few times, but then I can't connect anymore to my devices. Only a total reboot of the pc works.

Maybe this has something to do with me booting up the laptop with the lid closed. I tried to remote control with Teamviewer, but the booting takes far longer than usual (5 minutes). So probably a problem during booting and connecting the usb devices....

2ND PROBLEM:



I try to make sky flats during dusk.



I tried making a flatfield in the exposure window. Go to alt-az (coordinates in the east) Adu: 6400, exposure: 1 second! Then add the item to the sequence.
Then click in the exposure window "start sequence".
I see: the mount does NOT move (although I see in a flash the logs: "slewing mount complete", this is wrong...).
Then when taking "exposure", a hard crash occurs.

3TH PROBLEM:
Some general small bugs I have noticed:

Observation planner in Kstars: I add an object with J2000 coordinates, but he shows as J2016 coordinates in the observation planner. Maybe this is intentional... I don't know.

Session plan/wish list: clicking on another object does not show a change in the sky graph with the sinusoide.

Session plan: "add to ekos scheduler": does not work. He does not add the object to the ekos scheduler.

4TH PROBLEM:

I make an scheduler list with 3 object (3 variable stars). He takes a few bias, few darks and then lights until a certain time.
Then when I click on "execute", I have a hardcrash.
Exposure on the focuser is set to 1 second !

Because it's a clear sky I could setup my telescope again today.

I first installed the new kstars-bleeding and indi-bin. Before that I did the apt-get update...
He installed some new packages and updates.

Then I start Kstars. I first make in the CCD-tab a new sequence. Flat, 2s exposure, 2x2bin, alt-az position somewhere in the east, ADU is 6000. Then I click "start sequence".

It's still the same problem as yesterday. I get a hardcrash and he shuts down kstars completely.

I then try something completely different.

When I then make a normal sequence, let's say I go to a certain position in the east, I take 2 light frames, 2x2bin, 2s exposure.
The scheduler says he discovered the job. He unparks the mount. Then he says the job is complete (????????), and shuts down indi. See the attached sequence and scheduler list file.

Important update !!

I set up the telescope again today, but I did an apt-get update; apt-get upgrade; It took a lot of time, then I installed kstars-bleeding and indi-bin again. Here he did nothing. So basically, I upgraded only my system.

I redid everything in kstars like the days before, and up until now no hard crashes anymore.
So probably had something to do with outdated packages or something...
Now the telescope is observing on its own.

Thousand times my excuses for the nuisance, but maybe this is a good lesson for the people who run into the same trouble.

Again an sitrep. I had exactly the same problem this evening like I had in the first post today. Hard crashes and a scheduler that immediately says "job completed" and parks the mound and shuts down indi.
I had to redo an apt-get upgrade and a reboot of the whole system to get Ekos to uberhaubt start the scheduler so I could experiment further with the functionality.

I compiled some new applications on the imaging laptop and I had to install a lot of dependencies. My guess this is the cause of the problem.
