Hi,
I am starting out with Ekos, and I have two imaging scopes and a guide scope, I also use my two imaging scopes with focal reducers sometimes, so do I need to list these as four different set ups (with and without reducers) plus guide set up somewhere in Ekos and choose the correct one on any given imaging night...? If so where...
When you open up the Ekos window, the first thing you will see is the profile editor to attach to your equipment. Simply hit the plus button (+) and add your scopes with known focal length. Then what you can do is set up a profile for each set of equipment you might use on any given night. The next time you use the same configuration, just select the profile where you set everything up, and get to sky viewing. To get the config window seen below, click the pencil icon to edit the profile.
Great thanks done that, but in the window where you add the information, on the Driver box, do I leave as none or put EQMOD telescope as that’s what I use, and do that for each scope, and do I need to add that for my guidescope too, or just the imaging scopes... ?
- no need to specify a driver so leave at none
- yes you need to do this for all telescope profiles
- yes you need to add your guiding scope
When you start guiding via Ekos, this way you made sure that you can select the guiding cam and guiding scope which is essential for plate scale computations.
