EKOS/KSTARS causing my WIn10 laptop to freeze #41020
Hi all,

I loaded up the latest stable version of KStars onto my Win10 laptop. Using KStars by itself is no problem. The issue comes when I launch and use Ekos.

I load up Ekos & connect to all my equipment. I then start plate solving, after a couple of iterations my machine completely freezes. Screen, Mouse, Keyboard, the lot. The only way I can recover is to do a hard-boot. It happens regularly and with no warning or error messages displayed.

My machine is unremarkable:
Win10 Home
Core i7-6500 CPU
AMD Radeon graphics card

I checked the load on my machine and there was nothing that looked out of place. I suspect it is the graphics card that is causing the issue but I have only had it occur when using Ekos.

So are there any graphics card incompatibilities that would cause this?

Thanks in advance.

using remote or online solver? if yes, which online one? ANSVR or the vanilla online astrometry.net? logs show anything odd?

Hi Jasem,

Thanks for getting back to me. I'm using ANSVR as my solver (pointing to localhost:8080).

I didn't see any logs but I'll have a look when I get home.
